Suppositories from vaginosis

What's new in the treatment of bacterial vaginosis?

Recently, a modern drug "Neo-Penetrant" has appeared in pharmacies. It comes in the form of vaginal suppositories with a set of disposable fingertips. Its peculiarity is the combination of antifungal and antimicrobial components in one candle.

The drug has significant advantages over its predecessors. New suppositories effectively fight all the most common pathogens of vaginal infections. Therefore, "Neo-Penetrant" can be prescribed as a means of first aid even before receiving smear data.

Previously, for bacterial vaginosis, metronidazole was prescribed in the form of suppositories or gel. Popular metronidazole preparations include Methomyl gel and Keion-D 100 vaginal tablets. Another well-known agent is a cream containing clindamycin - "Dalasi". These drugs are still very effective. However, there is one point when using them.

After the end of the course of therapy in women, thrush caused by fungi of the genus Candida is often exacerbated. The use of "Neo-Penetrant" solves this problem, because the composition of these candles includes an antifungal component.

That is, a woman herself, without consulting a gynecologist, can use these candles?

No, all medications must be prescribed by a doctor. Bacterial vaginosis is a gynecological variant of dysbiosis.

In fact, with this disease, a local "war" begins between "good" and "bad" microbes. And not the most beneficial bacteria win in it.

In almost a third of cases, several pathogens are detected simultaneously - a mixed form of infection. If you do not recognize it immediately and do not choose the right treatment, then after a short improvement, the disease can resume with renewed vigor.

How long do you need to use new Neo-Penetrant candles? Do they have contraindications and side effects?

"Neo-Penetrant" should not be taken during pregnancy, during lactation, if you are allergic to any of the components of the suppositories. These complications quickly disappear after stopping treatment.

Is bacterial vaginosis treated only topically? Or do you need more pills?

Despite the effectiveness of suppositories and gels, in some patients, after a successful course, the problem reappears.

In such cases, we use complex therapy, and add oral tablets to the treatment regimen.

Usually, the same metronidazole is used for these purposes. This drug is quite effective, but it causes many side effects.

In recent years, we have been using a new drug to which microbial resistance has not yet developed - Tibial. Unlike metronidazole, when taken simultaneously with alcohol, Tibial does not cause complications.

Candles plus pills - is that enough to finally solve the problem?

After antibacterial treatment, it is necessary to consolidate the success. At the second stage, vaginal suppositories with lactic acid bacteria are used. Candles are best suited for these purposes.

For a successful cure, measures to combat intestinal dysbiosis are also important. Indeed, two-thirds of patients with bacterial vaginosis have some kind of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Therefore, doctors often prescribe a course of preparations of normal intestinal flora: lined, lifeform, acyl act.

It is also important to adjust your diet. It should include daily lactic acid products containing "live" bacteria - natural yogurt, bifid. Sauerkraut, fresh vegetables, fruits and herbs are useful.

The food must contain enough protein. With bacterial vaginosis, "hard" diets for weight loss and starvation are unacceptable, as they drastically reduce the body's defenses.

To restore the immune system, it is advisable to take herbal immunomodulators: Echinacea, Eleuthero coccus, Robiola rose.

If necessary, then simultaneously treat hormonal disorders and other diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.

Undoubtedly, hygienic preventive measures are also needed. With bacterial vaginosis, you can not wear synthetic swimming trunks, thong panties. It is highly undesirable to use pads “for every day”. You cannot douche without a doctor's recommendation. Exacerbation of the disease can occur with hypothermia.

If a woman is protecting herself from unwanted pregnancy with hormonal pills or topical medications, it is imperative to consult a doctor.

Is it necessary to treat bacterial vaginosis? Or, with an asymptomatic course, can the body be allowed to cope on its own?

Previously, with asymptomatic vaginosis, even confirmed by laboratory methods, treatment was not carried out. However, new evidence suggests that treatment still needs to be done.

If a woman is healthy, then even a massive attack of "harmful" microbes does not always lead to a gynecological disease. But bacterial vaginosis "breaks" this female protective barrier.

And if pathogenic microbes enter the vagina, then inflammatory diseases - vaginitis - flare up as easily as dry needles from a thrown match. And extinguishing the fire of inflammation occurring against the background of bacterial vaginosis is much more difficult.

In addition, bacterial vaginosis increases the risk of inflammation of the lining of the uterus - endometritis. Vaginal dysbiosis can serve as a favorable background for the development of cervical cancer.

Bacterial vaginosis in pregnant women increases the incidence of inflammatory complications in the mother and child in the postpartum period.

When is testing for bacterial vaginosis required?

Even if a woman is not worried about anything, you need to visit a gynecologist and undergo an examination before and after the introduction of an intrauterine device. It is especially important to get rid of this ailment in preparation for gynecological operations and before a planned pregnancy.
