Free Weekly Reading #52

Each week when I do these readings I set up my reading space with black fabric, (for the photo, mostly but it also allows for and smooth, calm space to focus on the cards) make sure I have undisturbed quiet time; dogs are out, husband is at work/play/store/whatever, phone is off, etc… I begin with a quick grounding meditation and settle into a centered peace to ask for guidance in choosing the cards which will be most appropriate for the week ahead. I shuffle the cards with my intent in mind and spread them in a dealer’s “ribbon spread”. Then with eyes closed, I ask for the Center card, the West card and finally, the East card, reaching out to the spread, touching the cards and choosing the one that feels most fully under my finger tip, then sliding them into their positions. Before opening my eyes I return to a calm, centered state and do my best to sense whether the three cards I’ve chosen are the most fitting for the highest and best for all involved. Only then do I turn them face up and photograph them for the reading. There are times when I see the three cards before me and groan or breathe a sigh of relief but I always use the cards I’ve selected ”blindly”.

That said;

The Center card this week is the Prince of Wands.

In dealing with this prince we find charm, wit, intelligence, beauty and the inevitable opportunity to flame out. Be aware this week of your ability to charm, finagle and manipulate your way into the position or situation that looks like it’s exactly what you want. As your charm and wit are at a high point, so are the fun and attractive qualities of others. Yes, this is a time when you can contrive great ways to get what (you think) you want easily and with little resistance. It is also a time to ask deeper questions. With the two of Wands augmenting this central card there is a strong sense of duality now along with our own attractive qualities so there’s a good chance we’ll be faced with "should I or shouldn’t I?"," is she or isn’t she?" or "what does he really want?" types of questions. I think one of the most important questions to ask is “What is best for all involved?". However the desire to just go for it because you feel so adept right now is very strong and more than likely the easiest path to take. Try to give yourself just a moment to take a breath. Perhaps ask yourself, “do I want to try to light my candle with the first flash of the sulfur on a match or wait until the flame settles and takes hold of the wood?” That flash is brilliant but not always successful.

The West card is the 6 of Swords.

Of the three cards, this will be our saving grace. This 6 encourages clear thinking and quick wit. Because access to these abilities of recognition and understanding is in place, we’re able to quickly realize that the beautiful wavering picture we see right in front of us, although it looks like exactly the thing to have, could be a mirage. One great benefit here is that we’re able to know, quite clearly, the most relevant questions to ask. We easily find the knowledge and the words to poke at the veil of uncertainty and find what’s true and what isn’t. Just because we know that sunlight makes the heat waves in a desert look like water, it doesn’t mean that there’s not an oasis there despite the optical illusion. It’s probably better to proceed slowly towards the prospect of a cool drink rather than run full out towards a trick of the light exhausting resources in pursuit of a phantom.

The East card is the 2 of Wands.

Herein lies the push-me-pull-you of dichotomy. We’re all feeling our attractive and beguiling nature deeply, so we’re confident of success in our endeavors. But so is everyone else and that raises the concern that what we’re being offered could be less desirable than what it seems like on the surface. The trick here is recognition. As we attune to our knowledge and understanding of the situations we find ourselves in, we can use that intelligence to make clear decisions. If it had been the 6 of Cups or Pentacles I’d probably say, just try to be kind and wait. But because we have the non-emotional Swords to balance the fire we should have enough clarity to recognize our best choices along with the passion and creativity to use the best of what we find.

In Conclusion;

This is a good time for negotiating. We’re “looking” good, we have the motivation to reach for our goals and --the cherry on top-- the clarity of mind to make wise decisions. If there’s an idea or plan you’ve had in the works, this week will be a good time to present it. If there’s someone you’ve wanted to get to know, you have the charm and charisma to be seen, heard and noticed. However, like my Dad used to say, ”if something looks too good to be true, it probably is.” Just be sure to ask the probing questions needed to make an informed decision, then GO for it!

Have an alluring week.

Light, Tory
