Thoth Tarot

This week looks like an interesting mix of creativity and compassion. The perfect marriage of expansive passion and heartfelt understanding.

The central card this week is The Lovers.

Though the week could be anything, from a complete fulfillment of hope and dreams to destruction and ruin or slate clearing anger the point we come to by the end is a deeper understanding and acceptance of who we are at the center. When The Lovers card appears it’s time to recognize that the only person we will ever truly and completely know is Self. Only when we can embrace all of the right, wrong, good, bad, beautiful, ugly, brilliant and foolish in the person walking around in our skin with our face can we understand or give of ourselves to the others around us honestly. When we can remove the filters of our own insecurities, compulsions, needs and/or self righteous ideologies, then, and only then, can we see the reality of the people we care about and interact with every day. In embracing ourselves we no longer need to make the people around us into something to fill holes we find in our own countenance. This week the focus of that self inspection is the connection between our fiery, passionate creativity and deeply emotional and compassionate experience of Self in responding to our friends, family and acquaintances. We’re feeling both the fire and the emotional strength to step forward, boldly, as our true selves, to face situations that beg for our attention and we can do so with a bravery that, until now may have been elusive.

The West card is the Princess of Wands.

The princesses of the Tarot find their strength and courage in their innocence. Representing the first step on the path to integrating the knowledge of the suit into our daily lives, the princesses start fresh. Like the first day of a new job, they enter with excitement and an open mind, ready to learn the ropes. They haven’t come across any of the challenges or choices that will eventually crop up so they’re ready for anything and have no sense of fear because they’ve never had to face anything scary. With the princess of Wands the intent and focus are all about creativity and the implantation of new ideas and actions. They're fired up and ready to go with their curiosity on high and their minds ready to soak up all the interesting possibilities. These fiery energies like to press the boundaries of the known and look beyond to create new “normals”.

The East card is the Princess of Cups

In this princess we find the open caring nature of a child. Their hearts are whole, no confidences have been broken nor have they faced betrayal. This is not to say that none of us has ever faced those things, but that we’ve come to a place where we can remember how it was before we learned about the ways in which our innocence could be damaged. We remember how to be whole and unbiased. To bring all of our emotions up to the fore and allow them to just be without fear of retribution or shame or, even the soft touch of simple kindness --which can be practically terrifying if we don't think we deserve it.

In conclusion;

This week we have the chance to reach into our memories of simpler times when we had the excited curiosity and brazen creativity to make something new. Along with that fire we experience the watery flow of emotional honesty to the point that we feel open enough to use our creativity towards asking for and seeking things we need and want in our lives. With the Lovers at the center the desire to create a new and honest relationship with Self with the intent to partner this new incarnation with the people around us brings us to relationship at a whole new (and higher) level. This has been an incredibly challenging year so far and as tough as it’s been the opportunity to remake who we are at the in the face of all this change has been just as broad and all encompassing. This looks like it will be a week of revelation, integration and implementation. We remake ourselves and go forward with new understanding of who we truly are.

Have an inspiring week!
