Free Weekly Reading #4 for 2021

Mirror Dragon Tarot

Reading for 1-25 thru 1-31-21

Each week when I do these readings I set up my reading space with black fabric, (for the photo, mostly but it also allows for and smooth, calm space to focus on the cards) make sure I have undisturbed quiet time; dogs are out, husband is at work/play/store/whatever, phone is off, etc… I begin with a quick grounding meditation and settle into a centered peace to ask for guidance in choosing the cards which will be most appropriate for the week ahead. I shuffle the cards with my intent in mind and spread them in a dealer’s “ribbon spread”. Then with eyes closed, I ask for the Center card, the West card and finally, the East card, reaching out to the spread, touching the cards and choosing the one that feels most fully under my finger tip, then sliding them into their positions. Before opening my eyes I return to a calm, centered state and do my best to sense whether the three cards I’ve chosen are the most fitting for the highest and best for all involved. Only then do I turn them face up and photograph them for the reading. There are times when I see the three cards before me and groan or breathe a sigh of relief but I always use the cards I’ve selected ”blindly”.

That said;

The Center card for this week is the 9 of Cups.

With the nine of Cups we find our deepest and most gregarious feelings of compassion, grace, comfort, acceptance and generosity. We feel full of love and contentment and uncover a strong desire to share our good fortune and good feelings. The recognition of how truly fortunate we are and the positive circumstances we find in this moment fill us and allow us to be grateful for just how far we’ve come. Even though during the past year we’ve faced challenges and changes greater than we could have imagined, this week we embrace the impulse to relax into the good things that we have right now. Many of us feel grateful to have a job, healthy family, home, food, companionship, future opportunities and more and the time is now to revel in all the beauty and grace that surrounds us. Life is good. We see the light beyond current challenges and know that we will get there. One note of caution; it’s very easy to want to stay in these feelings of comfort so the urge to just settle in and forget responsibility is strong. By all means enjoy the good feels, the laughter and easy conversation, just try to also keep in mind the work it’s taken to get there and be ready to keep on doing the things you do to carry on.

The West card is the Knight of Swords.

As the week starts out we’re more clear about who we are, what we want in our lives and how to get there. This Knight has great knowledge and understanding of the world around him and having come to that plateau of wisdom he now looks to the possibility of expansion and new ideas, thoughts and opportunities. In this case the beginning of the week will likely have us feeling very clear not only about the riches in our lives, but also about how we might go about expanding on the bounty of our experience. With this re-energized clarity and the grateful sense of ease and comfort we allow this week, it can seem that doors to luck, chance and opportunity are opening as if by magic.

The East card is the Aeon.

So we have a repeater this week! “All the better to know yourself with, my dear” said the big wise wolf. (I’m a wolf lover so I see no “Bad” about them.) As I mentioned last week, the Aeon is about a new era, a new reality. We certainly have been in a long period of transformation and together with the renewed clarity of the Sword wielding Knight and the benevolent and generous 9 of Cups we see the doors that open for us now with anticipation and excitement rather than fear or defensiveness. At a deep level we know well that we’re up to the challenge of new directions. We Got This.

In Conclusion;

Clear, calm and comfortable are the watch words for this week. It’s a great time to take a breath, take a break and enjoy what we have in our lives right now. Yes, it’s tough to get together, work, go to school or socialize but we have amazing ways to communicate, cutting edge medicine, technology that opens the world at a glance and means of persevering now that the folks that lived through the Spanish Flu of 1917-18 never had and would, in fact, see as magic. Let’s grab the magic and see where it takes us.

Have an enchanted week!

Light, Tory
