Mirror Dragon Tarot

Each week when I do these readings I set up my reading space with black fabric (for the photo, mostly but it also allows for and smooth, calm space to focus on the cards) make sure I have undisturbed quiet time; dogs are out, husband is at work/play/store/whatever, phone is off, etc… I begin with a quick grounding meditation and settle into a centered peace to ask for guidance in choosing the cards which will be most appropriate for the week ahead. I shuffle the cards with my intent in mind and spread them in a dealer’s “ribbon spread”. Then with eyes closed, I ask for the Center card, the West card and finally, the East card, reaching out to the spread, touching the cards and choosing the one that feels most fully under my finger tip, then sliding them into their positions. Before opening my eyes I return to a calm, centered state and do my best to sense whether the three cards I’ve chosen are the most fitting for the highest and best for all involved. Only then do I turn them face up and photograph them for the reading. There are times when I see the three cards before me and groan or breathe a sigh of relief but I always use the cards I’ve selected ”blindly”.

That said;

The Center card this week is the Magician.

What an interesting follow up from last week’s turbulence and de-construction. The Magician is a card of action and power. Governed by the number one, he follows the zero of the Fool in their ruling numbers. In transitioning from the zero of the Void -pure possibility- we realize the talents and assets as they come into form at their purest and most complete. With this recognition we discover that we have all the tools, talent, insight, wisdom and the energy to make absolutely anything happen within us. We are the Magician. As we stand at the edge of the precipice before the Void we see options where others see only nothingness. The Magus understands that in order to create we must have space within which to build. With the new openings we’ve created by releasing old structure, judgement and convention we now have clear space to fill with the aspirations and intent that may have been stifled by the convention or opinions that had us bending in opposition to our own desires. The probability of a clean slate lives here.

The West card is Adjustment.

In this card we find the alignment and balance between our own will and what sustains continuity in our environment and the combined energy of the Whole. We become sensitive to the vibratory rates in our lives and, as a result, we’re able to sense when things are “out of true” or out of balance. It’s likely we will be able to tell which situations work for us and which create imbalance simply by the way we feel. If you’ve ever seen any of the Indiana Jones movies you’ll remember the line, “I’ve got a bad feeling about this”. The energy this week will allow us to really notice when things feel out of whack. So, if you find yourself feeling a bit like Indiana Jones or, even better, if your new awareness has you feeling the clear comfort and positivity of a particular room, person, house, decision, space or any other environment you resonate with, ponder that. Give it some brain space. As we grow more and more comfortable with our ability to resonate with our environment we open our perception of the larger whole and the life of the macrocosm we’re an integral part of.

The East card is the Knight of Swords.

I see the Knights (Kings) of the Tarot as the path finders. They’ve grown through all the stages of learning, applying, reciprocating and teaching the energy of their suits and are ready to impart their accumulated wisdom, to be a living example of that energetic reality. From there they look forward to the next new lesson that can be added, nurtured and grown to expand their knowledge into the future. This week the inspiration of the Magician is given a clear voice with which to utilize his skills and to be an example of what can be accomplished when we weave the magic of our intent. In whatever endeavor you choose, skills and talent are obvious, a new or different path may be easily recognized and the confidence to step forward and embrace the moment strong.

In Conclusion;

This week we can rise from the ashes like the fabled phoenix with the bright plumage of new ideas and plans. With the Magician as the primary focus we have a great deal of personal power at this time and with great power comes great responsibility. As the Magician represents the number one, he is followed directly with the Priestess at number two and the Empress at number three for a very good reason. To balance the raw power needed to manifest out of the Void with the gentler and more feminine energies of a connection to the Divine, Source, Spirit inherent in the Priestess and the compassion, grace and beauty of the Empress. We’re in a time of personal influence which could easily trip over into dominance without the compassion and acceptance to soften a heavy hand. It would likely benefit us all this week to recognize the power in others and raise our strength to meet it as well as tempering our own mastery with kindness for a smoother flow.

Have a gently commanding week.

Light, Tory
