Mirror Dragon Tarot

Reading for 11-22 thru 11-28-21

Each week when I do these readings I set up my reading space with black fabric (for the photo, mostly but it also allows for and smooth, calm space to focus on the cards) make sure I have undisturbed quiet time; dogs are out, husband is at work/play/store/whatever, phone is off, etc… I begin with a quick grounding meditation and settle into a centered peace to ask for guidance in choosing the cards which will be most appropriate for the week ahead. I shuffle the cards with my intent in mind and spread them in a dealer’s “ribbon spread”. Then with eyes closed, I ask for the Center card, the West card and finally, the East card, reaching out to the spread, touching the cards and choosing the one that feels most fully under my finger tip, then sliding them into their positions. Before opening my eyes I return to a calm, centered state and do my best to sense whether the three cards I’ve chosen are the most fitting for the highest and best for all involved. Only then do I turn them face up and photograph them for the reading. There are times when I see the three cards before me and groan or breathe a sigh of relief but I always use the cards I’ve selected ”blindly”.

That said;

The Center card this week is the 4 of Cups.

Happy Thanksgiving!

For many of us this is a time of gathering with family and friends in celebration of the abundance we’re surrounded by. We take time to look at what we’re grateful for and renew our connections with those we hold dear. Of course it could be that we’re just happy to have a few days off for food, friends and football. In any case, this week we have the four of cups as a central energy which encourages us to indulge in pleasurable pursuits. With this focus on feeling good it’s easy to become a bit self-centered. Also emotions could run high naturally as we deal with family we may not have seen for a while and with whom we have history. Sprinkle in a little stress about entertaining, cooking, cleaning and “looking good” for everyone we’ve been out of touch with and you could have a recipe for emotional pyrotechnics. This is not to say all big gatherings will be outlets for old grievances, some may be the most joyous reunions and renewed friendships that have been found in quite a while. The emotion quotient will be full and rich and whether it’s endearing or explosive, or both, is up to everyone there.

The West card is the Ace of Wands.

We begin the week with a spark of inspiration. Maybe there’s a new way to cook turkey that you’ve been wanting to try or new people being added to the traditional gathering or even a new tradition taking form. We feel inspired to open doors of perception and try new things. With the heightened emotions the holidays this can be a fun and exciting time and if we can add a bit of forgiveness if things don’t turn out just the way we expected or of bit of humility if they turn out way better than we thought they would the enhanced pleasure we get back will be just that much more enjoyable.

The East card is The Moon.

This being our one Major Arcana card this week shows us the take-aways we can expect from the interactions we find or put ourselves into. The Moon represents the Divine Feminine in her most mysterious and her wildest form. Under her influence this week, we revel in the mystery that is life, love, intimacy, commitment and compassion. As we rest, digest the big meals and the emotional politics families create, as we play with the left-overs making odd concoctions that invariably include turkey and ponder the mysteries that compel us, keeping an open mind and and attitude of acceptance will help us soften any edgy interactions as well as deepen our perception of family and love. This could be one of the most honest and enlightening holidays we’ve had in a while.

In conclusion:

This holiday week is ripe for emotional growth. (More likely of the gentler type but stay open to fireworks.) With the fiery Ace of wands arcing and sparking inspiration and new ideas plus The Moon casting her silvery glow over paths as yet unexplored and the broader emotional capacity of the watery 4, we have a perfect vehicle for honest interaction. Honor your feelings, enjoy the connections, re-connections and reunions. Open your heart to the mysteries of family and love and your mind to new ideas and perspectives. Look towards what you have to be grateful for and honor those who have been part of your growth.

Have a gratefully inspired week!

Light, Tory

TIP for the week: Gratitude turns what we have into enough and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity… it makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. Melodie Beatie
