Mirror Dragon Tarot

Each week when I do these readings I set up my reading space with black fabric (for the photo, mostly but it also allows for and smooth, calm space to focus on the cards) make sure I have undisturbed quiet time; dogs are out, husband is at work/play/store/whatever, phone is off, etc… I begin with a quick grounding meditation and settle into a centered peace to ask for guidance in choosing the cards which will be most appropriate for the week ahead. I shuffle the cards with my intent in mind and spread them in a dealer’s “ribbon spread”. Then with eyes closed, I ask for the Center card, the West card and finally, the East card, reaching out to the spread, touching the cards and choosing the one that feels most fully under my finger tip, then sliding them into their positions. Before opening my eyes I return to a calm, centered state and do my best to sense whether the three cards I’ve chosen are the most fitting for the highest and best for all involved. Only then do I turn them face up and photograph them for the reading. There are times when I see the three cards before me and groan or breathe a sigh of relief but I always use the cards I’ve selected ”blindly”.

That said;

The Center card for the week is The Star.

The Star is the card of dreams and visions. When we float off into our fondest imaginings and meet our soulmate or score the winning point or get recognized for all that we’ve done and all that we are we’re basking in our inner truth. The Star shows us that to make those dreams real we must grab hold of them, bring them down into the “real” world and make them fertile. That we have dreams is a given, it’s what we do with them allows us to reveal the truth of what we mean to accomplish in this world. They don’t have to be huge or outlandish, they can be as simple as finishing a paper for work or school or finally cleaning out the garage or trying that new recipe. Problems may crop up if we simply imagine a finished paper, a clean garage or a brilliant new dessert. Unless we’ve somehow mastered the art of altering physical time/space and warped things into place, nothing actually gets done. When that happens we end up leaving the car in the driveway or late with the assignment and frustrated with our lack of success. Beware of pipe dreams, if you dream about being 5’9” and a runway model but you’re actually 5’0” you only face disappointment. However, if you dream about being a model and you’re 5’0” there are ways you can do that. You just need to do the work necessary to find or make your way to success. The thing is to remember the dream while we do the work.

The West card is the 2 of Cups.

This is a card of open hearted communication. There is an honesty when we acknowledge the love we have for one another. The two Cups show the polarity of the soul and the individuality of feelings. With open communication we can acknowledge and reconcile the opposition. With reconciliation we find balance. When we open to feelings of appreciation and acceptance we often find that we can speak from a deeper perspective. In this way we communicate heart to heart rather than with the detail oriented intellect. We may find fewer words but the words we do find are closer to the truth and have the power of heartfelt connection.

The East card is the Magician.

It’s been quite a while since the Magician’s shown up here and he’s popped up with two cards that channel his power and skills beautifully. Combined with the true self we find in our dreams and communication directly from the heart, we can do anything. The Magician represents the physical ability that we all have which allows us to bring our dreams into reality. It’s not about tricks or supernatural powers, it’s about our own ability to create and design our personal possibilities to be successful. The knowledge that we create what we focus on is important here so, in that regard, pay attention to your inner conversation about your dreams and desires. If you’re planning an outing, instead of thinking “I hope it doesn’t rain”, think “I just know it’s going to be a beautiful day.” That way you’re focused on the beautiful day and not the rain. I’ve found the Universe to be very literal. When we think of rain, it doesn’t matter if there’s a “please don’t” in there, we’re still focused on the rain. So, in the immortal words of so many, be careful what you wish for lest you get it.

In conclusion;

The realistic accomplishment of our dreams and visions is at hand and very close to the surface. If we open our hearts, speak honestly and plainly and actually put in the work our dreams can become reality. Focus is key here. If we look at our dreams and have doubts about our worthiness or our skill or our resources we face a choice. Either let go of the doubts to focus solely on the dreams or focus on the doubt and continue along at the status quo. I suggest letting go. Let your dreams fly.

Have a successful week.

Light, Tory

TIP for the week; For knowledge and wonder (which is the seed of knowledge) is an impression of pleasure in itself.
