Mirror Dragon Tarot

Each week when I do these readings I set up my reading space with black fabric (for the photo, mostly but it also allows for and smooth, calm space to focus on the cards) make sure I have undisturbed quiet time; dogs are out, husband is at work/play/store/whatever, phone is off, etc… I begin with a quick grounding meditation and settle into a centered peace to ask for guidance in choosing the cards which will be most appropriate for the week ahead. I shuffle the cards with my intent in mind and spread them in a dealer’s “ribbon spread”. Then with eyes closed, I ask for the Center card, the West card and finally, the East card, reaching out to the spread, touching the cards and choosing the one that feels most fully under my finger tip, then sliding them into their positions. Before opening my eyes I return to a calm, centered state and do my best to sense whether the three cards I’ve chosen are the most fitting for the highest and best for all involved. Only then do I turn them face up and photograph them for the reading. There are times when I see the three cards before me and groan or breathe a sigh of relief but I always use the cards I’ve selected ”blindly”.

That said;

The Center card this week is the Ace of Pentacles.

The Aces represent the energy of their suit in its purest form. As this is the Ace of Pentacles we’re working with the energies of the Earth and our physical resources; time, energy, money, tools and our physical bodies. This is the most material of the four elements and, from an esoteric perspective, is sometimes seen as the heaviest or basest of the elements. It’s not as flowing as the emotional Cups, soaring as the brainy Swords or spiritual as the passionate wands but it is the most solid and durable of the elemental influences. Being the first card in each suit, the aces also signal a beginning. I see the Ace of Pentacles as the golden nugget. It’s that first gleam of shiny, flashy gold that lets you know that you're on the right track. It’s the tiny seed that, with care and effort, will grow into a brilliant bush of roses. This week we get the affirmation, even if it seems small, that things have begun to manifest.

The West card is The Wheel of Fortune.

In this card we find the wisdom of past experience. From the top of the wheel we can see our past clearly and make decisions and determinations about future actions based on solid experiential understanding. With the wheels of our Universal, energetic connections and our physical reality working together as gears and cogs we watch our earthly journey roll forward. Although there are times when that movement is blocked and the cogs may slip there are also times when the gears of progression work with perfect precision and the magic of the Universe drops gifts of wonder into our lives. This is where luck lives. Whether “good” or “bad” luck is a manifestation of our own desires and fears given form.

The East card is the 9 of Cups.

Yay! Relief, play, joviality, fun and comfort. This nine helps our emotional and intuitive self recognize the bounty in our lives on a deep and appreciative level. We feel good and it shows. The folks we interact with, the light energy of laughter and fun that seems to float around us and a calm, relaxed sense of release carries us through the weekend. This is a great time to go play! Whether it’s at the beach, at home, in a park, on the road or just having a laugh with friends and family, our weekend is likely to be an enjoyable one. Grab it by the tail and run with it!

In Conclusion;

This week we’re given the chance to step back from the daily stresses and challenges of life and see the bigger picture. From this perspective we can see the golden nugget -the seed- of our dreams and desires that has taken hold in the earthly plane of reality and realize that we’ve accomplished something. It may be a tiny seed or a brilliant insight, but it certainly shows rewards for efforts taken and the steps needed to advance toward the next goal.

Have a gifted week!

Light, Tory

TIP for the week: We are all agreed that your theory is crazy. The question that divides us is whether it is crazy enough to have a chance of being correct. Niels Bohr
