Energy Healing

Energy healing is something that has been around for millennia and features in almost every single culture that has ever existed upon this Earth. From the ancient Egyptian priests and priestesses, of whom would act as physical embodiments of the Gods to provide healing to those in need; to some of the most prolific cultures of the modern day following the beliefs of a messiah that could provide hands-on-healing to those who asked him to.

There are tales and stories and, in those who believe in energy healing, proof of modern acts helping anyone and everyone that has the faith in those of whom are facilitating the healing process in the ways of energy. Now to understand what the thoughts and actions are behind that of 'energy healing', it is ideal to understand what the two words that encompass this awe inspiring act mean individually.

According to Merriam-Webster’s Online Dictionary, 'Energy' is defined as:

“A fundamental entity of nature that is transferred between parts of a system in the production of physical change within the system and usually regarded as the capacity for doing work.”

The same dictionary defines 'Heal' as:

“To cause an undesirable condition to be overcome.”

So, an interpretation of these definitions to help define Energy Healing could be:

“Energy, being a fundamental and ever present force of nature is transferred from one medium to another to help overcome an undesirable state that is present within the other. Thus, providing a change to help the other become whole once more.”

In many ways the energy being utilised to provide the healing of someone, or even something, is often not visible to the human eye as this energy is often a part of what is known as the Metaphysical Sciences. This being the study of that of which is beyond the physical world around us. (Meta Greek for Beyond, Upon or After and Physics Greek for Physical Mechanics of the World)

When looking at the Metaphysical Sciences, one must understand that it is filled with philosophy and faith that there is something more than just the physically world that we experience as a sole existence. It is the belief that once one looks beyond the physical body and understands that their body is made upon of the atoms and molecules that form every one of their cells, the understanding of energy that is present in their body becomes clear.

This had been amplified in some ways with the inventions of electron microscopes and other such devices that allow us to look further and further into the building blocks of life. Those building blocks being that of energy. Yet, the magic, wonder and science of energy healing only begins here.

Yes, one can sense, feel and sometimes see the energy being transferred, but the transference of this energy from one to the other to overcome an undesirable condition can be somewhat wasted unless there is something very important behind it: Intent.

Intent is such a key part of energy healing for energy is what can only be described as 'Grey'. Grey being a shade and a state of which it is neither positive nor negative, light nor dark, black nor white, for it has no direct purpose as of yet. With the power of intent one can direct that energy to follow a certain purpose. In this case, the purpose of providing the desired healing and overcoming a certain undesirable condition.

For example:

If an Energy Healer were to be facilitating the healing process of someone who has recently broken their leg. In an ideal situation, the person with the injury would have gone to the hospital and had the limb positioned in a cast so that it was in an ideal position for healing over time. What the Energy Healer would ideally do is focus the energy of any Divine Beings they choose to call upon; the energy surrounding the injury; and indeed the energy within the person's body; with the intent of the bone and the muscles surrounding the bone, to return to the state they were before the injury took place. This is so that they shall be healthy and whole once more.

Now, whilst energy healing may not provide an instant healing and resetting of the bone and muscles, it certainly directs the energy surrounding the injury for a positive intent to help the natural healing process. That being said though, it is possible that the injury may be reversed if the faith is strong enough in the facilitator of the healing and the one receiving the healing.

Energy healing however, is not just limited to the 'laying of hands', like that utilised in Reiki, or even just visualising the energy going where it is being guided to. Energy healing expands into many wondrous areas such as:

Crystal Healing, where the crystals provide another medium for the transference of energy and give the Energy Healer a focus point so that they are able to hold the intent in a more secure manner.

Colour Healing, where certain colours are either shone on a person by a light source or even coloured cloth may be used as well.

Angel Healing, where certain Angels are called upon and focussed in various positions to create a focal point where the energy is intended to be sent.

All of these forms of healing require the power of intent and a focal point in order to facilitate the healing that is being sought to overcome that undesirable condition. Keep in mind however, that these are but a few of the many wondrous ways that Energy Healing can help anyone and everyone that has the belief in the intention of this amazing and timeless means of receiving the healing that the body, mind and soul requires at any given time.

For much like the abundance of energy that exists within this beautiful world we live upon, so are its many means to help us heal and grow with a loving and positive intention.
