Diets Do Not Have to Be Boring!

Why Diets Are Boring and How to Change That!

A lot of people who want to lose weight think they can just do some cardio and the pounds will fall off, but most of us know that is not the case! It requires a lot of exercise, but more importantly, a good diet to go with it—after all, a good body is made in the kitchen. Typically your diet makes up 70 percent of your body, while exercise is only 30 percent, so if you have a good diet then that’s the hardest part done!

Why People Think It's Boring

The reason a lot of people think dieting is boring is because of how much they restrict themselves. They would simply look online for a "diet to lose weight" and just choose one of them. This leads to a plan for one week, containing foods and drinks that are beneficial to whoever created the programme that has ended up on google. This means that the plan is likely to contain foods that you do not enjoy, do not know how to make, or it will not benefit you at all based on all the macros that are consumed in the diet. People also tend to avoid dieting all together because they think that all they are going to eat is vegetables. Whilst these are included, a diet is not all vegetables. With a little bit of research, you can workout what foods you can fit into your diet!

How to Make a Diet Enjoyable

First of all, you need to find out how much you should be eating. So this includes how much carbohydrates, fat, sugars, etc. that you should be consuming in a typical day, and how many calories you need to consume to reach your goal!

Once you have found these details, you can then create your own meal plans to benefit you in getting the body you want. Just think about your favourite foods and if you happen to have them somewhere in your home. Just check how much, for example, carbohydrates they have and if they have a good amount of what is needed (carbohydrates in this case) then add it to your meal plans.

This is a simple way of tracking how much of something you can eat, whilst adding your favourite foods into your diets. By all means, have a treat here and there, have the doughnut that you love on one of the days or some biscuits that you enjoy! Diets don’t have to be as strict as you think.

Change it!

Another key part in a diet is changing what you eat. If you create a meal plan for one week and you use it every week, you will eventually get bored of eating that food and you will be more likely to indulge in food that will turn your diet bad!

Counter it!

Make your meal plans differently, use food you enjoy, but change when you have it. Rather than eating chicken with every meal, replace it with something that gives similar effects just to keep the variation in your meals!

Competition

Get competitive with your diets! If your friends or family are dieting then compete against them. See who can stick to their plans for the longest amount of time. See who can reach their goals the quickest and keep pushing each other to stick to your plans. Competition is great to make sure you keep doing something, so why not incorporate it into your diet to help you do better!

I hope this has given you a different perception on diets and hopefully you can find something right for you!

Thank you.
