The Box

She spends her time wondering what her life could be, she wonders what 20 years would look like. Life can flash really fast and before she knows, the time will be gone. She imagines what the places are like than the place she is in. What is the air like three oceans away? What does the grass feel like? What does the sun feel like? What would it feel like if she touched the ground with her fingers? If she laid in a meadow of wild flowers and the birds flying above the sky? She daydreams while steaming milk in a pitcher making a latte.

Each morning she wakes up, takes her dog out and gets ready for the day. Her simple morning ritual, making cup of coffee and starting her day off. Every morning she does this and before she knows it, the week is almost ready to start over. To her, everything moves so fast and she feels like everything is in slow motion.

She walks down the street like every morning and feels nothing. She feels no passion in what she does. She is searching for something that doesn’t exist in the place she is in. She keeps a box of pictures and pieces of paper with poetry in her closet. These are the things that give her hope, something for her to look forward to. Every time she see’s something or writes something down, she puts it in her box to give it a place of hope. When she is feeling like nothing matters, she goes to her closet and looks at her box to feel hope. She wonders what her footsteps will imprint and she continues to daydream while making that latte every morning.

Imprinted

The grass and the dirt are connected by the foot of a lion. The lion is warmed by the sun in the sky. The trees are scattered everywhere and the lion lays underneath the tree to stay cool. Each path the lion takes is imprinted by the land. The lion leaves their mark in this place. We don’t think about the life of a lion, how they have their circle life. The lion protects the animals in the kingdom of Africa. The stars are the kings before us. Each night they watch over the living. The lion looks up at the stars and remembers the ones before. The lion is reminded why they look to the stars. The lion is never alone because the kings are looking down upon the lion.

Moments in time are the essential part of living. We remember time this way. We remember the ones before by the imprinted marks in the ground. Our life is very temporary. A human life is measured in years. An animal’s life is measured in sevens. The earth stays forever, the wind and rain cycle from one place to another.

Spirit

Wild grass and tree’s in the meadows of Africa, cheetahs that run through the grass. Wild flowers that grow in the ground. The wind hitting the water softly and the birds flying free with the wind. Flowers that forever bloom in the sun. You can get lost in this place. You can day dream in the sun forever. Africa, the cape of hope. Dreams run wild and there is no way stopping them. Your eyes get lost in the sun over casting the water. Water smooth and fair to the one who dares to put their feet in wild water. The fish protecting the waters where their homes lie beneath the coral. This place is for the wild spirits that runs free in the night. The spirit that runs in the jungle in the morning sun. There is no place like this and won’t ever be a replacement.
