✨Our crystals often need help returning to their natural charged and happy state. Cleansing a gem releases their full potential, letting them carry out our intentions to the best of their abilities. There is no set rule as to how regularly you should cleanse your crystals, that decision is left to you and what you feel your crystals need. You may find that the crystals you use most frequently might need to be cleansed more regularly than your other crystals, though you should cleanse each and every one of your crystals every once in a while to make sure they’re thriving and ready to help you to the best of their abilities. As there are many different ways of cleansing, you can choose a method or multiple methods, that’s right for you and is safe for your particular crystals.

✨Using natural light, whether from the Sun or the Moon, is a simple and effective way to cleanse your crystals using the world around you. Light is a fantastic method if you're just beginning your practice, or if you're a seasoned Witch. Stay in tune with your crystalline friends and let them heal in the light.

✨The Moon is amazing at cleansing and recharging all of our crystals. A full Moon works best for cleansing, but you can use any of her phases, be it Waxing or Waning. Our crystals feel the effects of Moonlight regardless of rain or cloud cover, and it’s not essential for them to have a full view of the Moon as she cleanses them. The usual routine of using Moonlight to lustrate your crystals is to lay them out under the Moon about once a month. You can place them outside or in, depending on whatever is best for you and your current environment. A natural surface such as the ground or a wooden slab will yield the best results, though you can use whatever you have at your disposal. It is your choice as to how you present your crystals to the Moon; you can lay them out in any number of crystals grids, in an orderly display of your choice, in a cluster together or however, you feel they need to be set out. Leave them out overnight so your gemstones receive the full rejuvenating effects of the Moon as she cleanses. You can retrieve them whenever you feel it necessary— many people recover them after sunrise and return them to their rightful places, or they leave their crystals out for the full day following the full Moon so they feel the energising rays of the sun as well. Another common practice is to set your crystals out on the day before the full Moon and retrieve them the day after she has passed; the intense energies of the Full Moon herself are present throughout those three days, so leaving your crystals out over this time will give them the maximum exposure to the Full Moons cleansing light.

✨As with all practices in Witchcraft, you can choose to use the Moon's cleansing energies however you need to in relation to your crystals, as long as you’re thankful for her help and guidance.

✨Similarly to Moonlight, the Sun has rejuvenating properties as well. Many crystals thrive under the Sun’s rays, and none are not prohibited by rain or cloud cover; they will be energised regardless of the weather.

✨The typical process of bathing your crystals in the Sunlight is the same as how you would with the Moon; lay them in full view of the Sun, either outside amongst the elements or inside on a window sill. Again, a natural surface is best but not completely necessary to recharge your gems. Usually, crystals can be left out throughout either Sunrise or Sunset for a number of hours; though you can cleanse them throughout the whole day, from dawn to dusk.

✨Not every crystal enjoys the Sunlight so be careful; Moonlight is a safer choice if you are unsure about what your crystal reacts badly to, or if it remains unidentified. Cleansing your crystals in the Sun is not recommended for frequent use as too much exposure to sunlight can make many gems brittle, though it is a useful method if you have no alternative.
