What is it?

What the Coronavirus looks like with science.

Getting sick sucks, you have to stay in bed, you can't read anything because that migraine will not go away. Forget about watching Netflix, the screen is often too bright. So, you are stuck sleeping it off and ordering people around your house to do this and that and then everyone else gets either annoyed with you or affected.

Lately, all news stories have been turning the coronavirus and no, it does not make you crave beer. I know, maybe that joke came too early? Anyways, I think it is about time to figure out what it does to your body and why it is causing deaths. The 99 patients taken to the hospital had pneumonia. for those of you who do not know what pneumonia is, it is when our lungs are inflamed and the tiny sacs where oxygen moves from the air to the blood fill with water. So, it can start as pneumonia and other symptoms affect the entire body as well those symptoms include: fever, cough, shortness of breath, muscle ache, confusion, headache, sore throat. It might be starting as a simple cough and that's terrifying to know that you could have more than a common cold. The first death was a patient who happened to be a smoker and he came into the hospital with pneumonia, his longs were not providing enough oxygen into the lungs, but he was put on a ventilator to help him breathe and despite that, his heart stopped pumping and his lungs collapsed, which is an uncommon event to happen. The second patient had an artificial lung breathing for him and it still did not stop the coronavirus from taking his life. As of January 30, 2020, 11 deaths occurred due to the virus.

If you are planning to visit China, here are a few tips to avoid it:

-if you must travel to China avoid going to animal markets and animals.

-Practice basic hygiene such as washing your hands after being in a public place or taking transit anywhere. If you can maybe carry one of those gel hand sanitizers, even the bath and body ones.

-Cover your mouth with your sleeve, when you sneeze or cough. I see so many people coughing into the open air. Please stop. I do not want to get sick or carry your germs even if it is from a common cold.

-Avoid touching your face. My father always reminds me to stop touching my face, if you have an itch you go wash it.

-When you are sick. You are sick. Your health is more important than your job. Please realize that. Your boss can live without you for one day and if you are the boss, well that should not be a problem either.

Even though it is still a low risk in America. It is good to keep the above practices in mind. China has been declaring travel bans to certain parts, so getting around while you are there may be tough. Some rumors are said that a snake or a bat first had the virus, but we cannot believe all the rumors we hear. According to the New York Times the virus has killed 200 victims. The Coronavirus is a an outbreak of global health, so the USA and I'm guessing Canada is discouraging people from flying to China. That is probably the best thing to do in order to not be affected by the virus. Most the virus was spread from person to person.

Now, the flu has much more of a high risk, since it has taken more lives than the Coronavirus, so get your vaccinations. It is important to get that immune boost for your system. 39 children have died from the flu in one year. Please do get vaccinated, the flu is not a fun experience especially when you get hospitalized.

Stay safe and remember sleeves are for coughing.
