Orchidoptosis is when the testicles hang lower than normal due to temperature changes or disease factors. Scrotal skin relaxation caused by local temperature increase will result in normal and physiological sagging of the testicles. The sagging testicles caused by other factors belong to pathological sagging. The testicles are lower than normal in position, with swelling, pain, and other symptoms.

Epididymitis is one of the many causes of orchidoptosis. Males suffering from orchitis or epididymitis will suffer from apparent testicular or epididymis swelling. The two testicles adhere to each other closely and are difficult to separate. At this time, orchidoptosis will occur, accompanied by local pain and the feeling of bearing down in local areas.

In addition, epididymis tissues will be inflamed and infected, easily leading to scrotal congestion and slagging of the skin for the scrotum, thus resulting in orchidoptosis.

Besides, orchidoptosis is associated with the following factors:

1. Physiological factors. When the body temperature or the outside temperature is too high, the scrotum will become relatively relaxed, dilating the cremaster connecting the two testicles. There will be symptoms of orchidoptosis. In this situation, it is not required to carry out unique treatments, and when the temperatures become normal, symptoms will be alleviated.

2. Other related diseases. If the patient has a varicocele, testicular tumors, and other diseases, it can cause the testicles to gain weight, leading to orchidoptosis. Pathological reasons cause this, and patients must go to the hospital in time for diagnosis and treatment.

In general, epididymitis may cause orchidoptosis. Urinary system infections mostly cause epididymitis. Under the stimulation of inflammation, the patient's epididymis and testis will be swollen and painful, resulting in scrotal distension, pendency, and testis ptosis.

At the same time, patients will also be accompanied by traction pain in the lower abdomen and groin and enlargement and hardening of the epididymis. Without timely treatment, patients will be accompanied by related symptoms, such as varicocele, prostatitis, and endocrine diseases, leading to sexual function decline.

If epididymitis is not treated promptly, the epididymis will become harder. During sexual activity, the vas deferens contract, leading to painful ejaculation. This has a significant impact on normal sexual activity, not only reducing sexual pleasure but also leading to sexual dysfunction.

Sperm mainly lives in the epididymis, and if suffering from epididymitis, it will inevitably have an impact on the living environment of sperm. If the disease has not been effectively treated, sperm motility will be reduced, resulting in dead sperm and azoospermia, and in serious cases, fertility will be lost.

The following measures can also be taken to treat orchidoptosis caused by epididymitis:

1. Hot compress and sit baths

In the early stage of epididymitis, patients can adopt a hot compress for the testicles or sit bath treatment, which can effectively accelerate local blood circulation and improve metabolism to alleviate the symptoms of scrotal congestion, helping the testicles to return to a normal position.

2. Anti-inflammatory therapy

Regular and effective treatments of epididymitis matter a lot in improving orchidoptosis. Generally, patients will take relevant antibacterial drugs to control the disease under the doctor's guidance. When it comes to chronic epididymitis, seek herbal medicine Diuretic and Anti-inflammatory Pill to get a cure.

3. Daily care

Patients can wear special testicular support underwear to hold up the testicles, improving the orchidoptosis. In addition, patients should rest more, avoid standing for a long time or sitting for a long time, and do appropriate physical exercises, such as aerobic exercises, to promote blood circulation in the lower part of the body. Patients should usually reduce masturbation, eat less spicy food and avoid strenuous exercises.

If the local pain is severe and recurrent, affecting life and work, epididymectomy can be considered, which is the ultima method to relieve symptoms.
