Meditation is a tool. Learn to use it and enjoy the benefits it offers you.

Meditation helps you to fight stress, improve your physical health, eliminate chronic pain, rest better, be happier, calmer, and more present.

At a deeper level, meditation is a gateway to the unknown. It often happens that through meditation you find out about yourself things you did not know before, and the discovery is always full of surprises.

What does this mean? It is an activity that you carry out alone, without being distracted, in which you will try to keep as far away as possible from the thoughts that tend to invade your mind.

You learn to focus on the present moment and your own body. At first, it will be difficult to stay away from your thoughts and problems, but over time, things will change.

Constantly practiced, meditation brings several benefits to the body and mind. It will help you control your emotional states and thoughts and get a state of peace and well-being that will guide you throughout the day.

Here are some tips to help you get the results you want and enjoy this exercise:

Don't look for a specific result

Meditation is not the kind of exercise you do to get a certain result.

For each person, the result is different, and the way you feel is unique.

Try to do things in such a way that you feel good during the exercise and you can identify a useful change during the day. By doing these things, daily exercise will become a routine.

Choose a comfortable position

Many people give up meditation or do not even consider the idea of practicing it, because they do not manage to easily stay in the lotus position.

This is not the only position you can meditate on. But it is advisable to sit down because if you lie down, it is possible to fall asleep.

The only part I didn't enjoy was the weeding and cultivating.

Thus, whatever position you adopt, the spine must be as straight as possible. If you sit down, your mind will be distracted and you will easily lose your focus.

The mind and body are interconnected, and if the body tends to a balanced position, the mind will follow. You can choose any place to practice meditation.

It is important, however, to be a secluded one, in which you can be alone with yourself, without being embarrassed by another presence.

Choose your mantra

The mantra is a word or phrase that you repeat in your mind or voice during meditation.

It is something you focus on in order to be present and distract yourself from other problems and thoughts.

You can choose a meaningful word, or you can use a meaningless one to free yourself completely.

Try different techniques until you find the right one for you

You can choose to keep your eyes open while meditating because when your eyes are closed, thoughts immediately invade your mind.

Other people feel more comfortable with their eyes closed. It is also important that the position you are in is one that you can easily maintain.

Regarding the use of ambient music, the decision is yours. For some people, music can be helpful, for others, silence sounds best.

Focus on breathing

Try to pay attention to the way you breathe throughout the session. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth.

This can help you focus on the present moment and pay attention to your own body. Basically, you can use breathing as a mantra.

At the end of the session, slowly open your eyes and enjoy what you are feeling.
