Be A Good Witch

Our own Eva has written several books as Wiccan High Priestess, Amber Riverwood. The books are made for teen girls, but very likely there will also be an adult version. The sacred and mathematical Viscus Pisis, for example, is just to vulvic to leave alone. It begs for some hot, grown-up storytelling.

CLEANING-UP THE ROOM

You are now comfortable at your altar. This is a good time to tidy-up, to cleanse the room, and cleanse your mind of any nagging negative energies.

For this ritual you will need the following items:

White candle (to represent Spirit)

Red candle (to represent the Element, Fire)

Athame (or any small knife)

Altar bell or chime

The Pentacle (Pentagram)

Small bowl of water

Small bowl of salt

1. Light the Spirit Candle. Ring the bell once.

Say: “I now give notice to all dark forces.

Depart now. Or face the wrath of Fire.”

2. Now draw a pentagram in the air over the altar.

Using your right hand with index finger extended, or using your wand, trace the five-pointed star in the air. Start in the lower left corner, move 1, 2, 3, 4, and return with 5. If you wish, you may finish this spell by making a circle around the star you have created. Return your wand to the altar, or rest your spell-casting right hand on the altar. This method of casting the pentagram in the air, you will use for the rest of your life as a witch.

3. Ring the bell three times.

Say: “The Sacred Pentagram is cast. I now free this space, and free my own mind of all impurities, negative thoughts and negative energies. I banish these dark forces from my altar.”

4. Light the Fire Candle from the Spirit Candle. While drawing an invoking pentagram over the altar with the candle, encircling the space, say, “Powers of fire, burn free any impurity from this sacred space.” Visualize a red energy glowing around the altar.

5. Hold the bowl of water. “I charge this water as a being of water, and cast out all impurity.” See yourself drawing blue light up from the water table to imbue the water, awakening it to its purpose. With fingers or athame, add three pinches of salt. Stir by drawing the invoking pentacle in the water, say, “Powers of water, wash free any impurity from this sacred space.” Sprinkle the water over the altar three times. Visualize a blue energy glowing around the altar.

6. Hold the bowl of salt. See yourself drawing green light from the earth itself to imbue the salt, awakening it to its purpose. Say, “I charge this salt as a being of earth.” Draw the invoking pentacle in the salt, saying, “Powers of Earth, ground free any impurity from this sacred space.” Sprinkle the salt over the altar three times. Visualize a green energy glowing around the altar.

7. Ring the bell five times.

Say: “Henceforth, whenever I approach this

altar, I come as a Servant of Light. Dark forces

are not welcome here. I will banish every single

one of you, every single time. So just stay the fuck away!”

Good Health Spell for Your Cat, Dog,

Rabbit or Parrot

This one is for your pets!

You will need the following items for this spell:

Spray bottle of clean, lukewarm water

Wand and Ceremonial Cup

Grimoire and pen

1. Sneak up on your pet when they are asleep.

2. Make sign of the Pentacle over them.

3. Sip clean water from the Ceremonial Cup.

Say: “By the Laughter and Surprise of God,

I bless you, little (your pet's name.)”

4. Spritz your cat, dog, rabbit or parrot with one

shot of lukewarm water.

5. Write this spell, and what you pet did in your

grimoire. If you can, make a video of this spell-

casting on your cell phone. You will enjoy
