CHICAGO, ILLINOIS—In his debut book, 15 Steps to Healthy Living, author Dr. Gordon Fimreite combines his vast knowledge on health and wellness with insights from his grandmother to introduce strategies that can be easily adopted into our daily lives to help us manage our overall health.

“I’m very excited about the book because I believe it can help a lot of people and even save lives,” stated Dr. Fimreite. “It is a very user-friendly guide that offers practical advice on how anyone can enhance their health in simple yet remarkable ways. I’m a firm believer that when you change your health, you change your life.”

For Dr. Fimreite, he recognizes his grandmother’s daily habits confirms what research says is the key to longevity and good health. His grandmother, Olinda Fimreite, lived until she was an incredible 105 years old. In the US, the average life expectancy is 78.8 years. Research shows that less than one percent of Americans actually ever make it to the triple digits.

“For my grandmother, she was consistent in life. She ate healthy, choosing foods naturally grown and avoiding processed items; she kept her mind and body active,” explained Dr. Fimreite. “If everyone applied those simples rules, longevity could run in everyone’s family.” Even well into her old age, Dr. Fimreite’s grandmother lived independently and enjoyed such hobbies as reading, attending church and telling stories.

While many self-help books offer “fad tips” or “quick fixes” to living a long, fulfilling life, Dr. Fimreite says the reality is there is no quick fix nor is there a one-size-fits-all solution for being healthy. “Everyone comes from different places on their path to good health. For anyone looking to take control of their health, it’s important to not get overwhelmed. Good habits start slowly,” explained Dr. Fimreite. “To form new habits, it takes 21 days. The goal is making small changes that eventually become a lifestyle. My book explains how to do this.”

According to Dr. Fimreite, healthy living is a journey, not a destination. It’s that mindset, he hopes individuals will adopt by reading the book. The book encourages Americans to re-think everything they think they know about health and wellness in a way that has proven to be effective.

“I truly believe that if you don’t manage your health, your health will ultimately manage you,” stated Dr. Fimreite.

15 Steps to Healthy Living covers a variety of educational topics including, but not limited to, nutrition, eating habits, in-depth exercise strategies as well as the benefits of positive psychology and happiness. It also explores current trends in health and wellness, detoxing from inside and out along with how sleep and stress management can be beneficial.

“My book encompasses physical, mental and emotional aspects of the human spirit. By just applying when and how to eat certain food groups will make a huge difference in a person’s health and future health and well being,” stated Dr. Fimreite. “Even if the reader is not ready for some of the tips found in the book, at least the seed will have already been planted for the future.”

15 Steps to Healthy Living will motivate readers to lose weight naturally, organize their health plan and glow from the inside out—and just be overall better versions of themselves. The book is currently available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble for $12.99. Readers can also download the Kindle version of the book for $9.99 on Amazon.
