It starts with love. . .
When we meditate, the mirror within reflect the other dimension of reality as it transports us to a golden light of might, the healing power of the other realm.
Karate Master Kenjiro Kawanabe died in 2023. He trained under Grand Master Gichin Funakoshi.
I managed to train under Kawanabe Sensei some 20 years ago, and he asked that I pay my respect to Funakoshi’s grave site, so I did.
The following is my attempt to understand the style of Hachiriki that he taught. This is a rough draft.
Healing Powers of the Golden Aura
Hachiriki: Eight Powers
“The practice of the ‘Hachiriki.” In the ‘Hachiriki’ strength is analyzed into eight factors, showing the ways of striking in 8 directions. Through this ‘Hachiriki’ practice, spirit (breath), waist (body) and fist (ken-touching point) can be matched. In the practice of Budo, these three must be matched at the same time; first of all and last of all.”
“It is said that 4 pairs of Gods displayed their power for the completion of the earth in the early days of creation. Human beings are said to be a miniature of the universe. Following this myth, the practice of the Hachiriki (8 powers) means to develop the creation inside of ourselves.” -Kawanabe
Budo Philosophy
"Current Japanese Budo has become an international sport, but it is quite diverted from the original and traditional…" Kawanabe. . . .
Hachiriki: Eight Direction Mandala
The eight powers are the 8 directions of light we travel through when we encounter the other dimension.1) movement,
2) release,
3) contraction,
4) unification,
5) calm,
6) solidification,
7) expansion, and
8) division.
The Eight Layers of the Auric Field
According to spiritual traditions, your aura consists of seven distinct structural layers or “bodies” with the eigth represention transcendence. The layers closest to the physical body vibrate at lower, denser frequencies, while the outer layers project out into higher spiritual planes:
Etheric Body (Layer 1): Connected to the Root Chakra. It sits closest to the skin, mirroring physical health, survival instincts, and material grounding.
Emotional Body (Layer 2): Connected to the Sacral Chakra. It processes feelings, desires, relationships, and fluid emotional boundaries.
Mental Body (Layer 3): Connected to the Solar Plexus Chakra. It holds cognitive thoughts, intellect, willpower, and personal power.
Astral Body (Layer 4): Connected to the Heart Chakra. Acting as a bridge between dense physical bodies and light spiritual fields, it handles love and deep connection.
Etheric Template (Layer 5): Connected to the Throat Chakra. It serves as the blueprint for your authentic self-expression, sound, and communication.
Celestial Body (Layer 6): Connected to the Third Eye Chakra. This layer governs intuition, imagination, devotion, and spiritual vision.
Causal Body / Ketheric Template (Layer 7): Connected to the Crown Chakra. It represents higher cosmic consciousness, divine wisdom, and total spiritual alignment.
Golden Flower(Layer 8): Connected beyond the Ketheric Chakra. It represents an even higher cosmic consciousness.
The Eight Chakras of the Body
1st Chakra (Root / Muladhara): Located at the base of the spine; governs survival and grounding. Yoga poses: Low squat (Malasana), Crow Pose, and Chair Pose.
2nd Chakra (Sacral / Svadhisthana): Located lower abdomen; governs emotions and creativity. Yoga poses: Cat-cow and gentle hip circles.
3rd Chakra (Solar Plexus / Manipura): Located upper abdomen; governs willpower and confidence. Yoga poses: Boat pose and Warrior sequences.
4th Chakra (Heart / Anahata): Located center of chest; governs love and compassion. Yoga poses: Camel pose and gentle backbends.
5th Chakra (Throat / Vishuddha): Located at the throat; governs communication. Yoga poses: Shoulder stand and fish pose.
6th Chakra (Third Eye / Ajna): Located between the eyebrows; governs intuition. Yoga poses: Child’s pose with the forehead resting on the mat.
7th Chakra (Crown / Sahasrara): Located at the top of the head; governs spiritual connection. Yoga poses: Headstand or seated meditation focusing upward.
8th Chakra (Aura / Soul Star): Located about a foot above the crown; governs the electromagnetic field and universal connection. Yoga practices: Overhead arm sweeps, deep breathing in stillness, and aura-cleansing arm movements
Colorful Eight Chakra Breathing Techniques
Exploring a magical method for moving energy by breathing. . .
1) Root Chakra (LAM): Breathe into the base of the spine, visualizing red aura.
2) Sacral Chakra(VAM): Move attention below the navel, visualizing orange aura.
3) Solar Plexus Chakra(RAM): Focus on the upper belly with yellow aura.
4) Heart Chakra(YAM): Direct breath and green aura to the center of the chest.
5)Throat Chakra (HAM): Focus on the neck area using blue aura.
6) Third Eye Chakra (OM): Direct awareness to the space between the eyebrows with indigo aura.
7) Crown Chakra (AUM): Rest awareness at the top of the head with violet or white aura.
8) Soul Star Chakra (OM) Ultraviolet, Gold, or Bright White The seat of the soul, divine unity, karmic history, and cosmic alignment with gold, or bright white aura.
Thank you for reading. I am revising and rethinking all this. When we practice yoga, we are breathing and developing a way to unify with the mystical and magical other.
It starts with love. . . stop the fighting. Love everyone
