According to a study done, peppermint oil is found to increase the number of hair follicles. What it does is to automatically create new hair follicles.

• Combine 3 drops of peppermint essential oil with carrier oil like coconut oil, avocado oil or olive oil.

Final thought:

In a study conducted on treatment of 86 patients with alopecia areata. The active group for the experiment were massaged with essential oils (thyme, rosemary, lavender, and cedarwood) in a mixture of carrier oil (jojoba and grape seed) into their scalp daily while the control group used only carrier oil for their massage daily.

From the findings, 43% of patients on the active group showed improvement. It revealed that essential oils used with carrier oils are effective treatment for alopecia areata.

Cedarwood, lavender, thyme and rosemary essential oils have hair growth promoting properties.

These oils have been anecdotally used to treat alopecia for more than 100 years.
