The pandemic in 2020 caught the entire world off guard. Every day, new regulations are being introduced in order to keep the virus from spreading. As such, many people around the world are now confined to their homes. The situation is stressful and full of uncertainty. If you're tired, anxious, and look for ways to entertain yourself during quarantine, keep on reading!

Exercise

Even though you'll most likely have to stick to home workouts, there are plenty of training programs and exercise tutorials online. The advantages of regular exercise are almost endless! First, you can control your weight and keep your body in great shape. What's more, it gives your immune system a healthy boost. It also improves your mood and promotes better sleep. You can benefit from exercise both physically and mentally. Come up with a training plan suited to your needs and give it a go!

Ride a bike

If you're feeling more adventurous, go outside! Fresh air can work wonders for you, and the weather is getting better every day. What better way to enjoy it from the seat of a great e-bike? Ebikes are safe and help you exercise more, regardless of your fitness level. You can pedal and use the motor whenever you get tired. What's more, you can travel longer distances! There are plenty of websites where you can buy an e-bike, for example ReallyGoodEbikes. Riding an e-bike is fun and can definitely help you get your mind off of stressful things. Just don't forget about your mask and gloves!

Pick up a new hobby

It's easy to get stuck in a rut and fall into a bottomless pit of unproductivity if you can't keep yourself occupied. Since you have to stay home, try to get the most of it! Now is the perfect moment for you to try something you've always wanted to try but never had the time. Maybe you can finally learn how to play an instrument, or do something creative, like painting or writing. The sky's the limit! With all the tutorials and materials available online, you'll definitely find something for yourself. This way, you'll have something to look forward to during the day!

Read

As simple as it may look, reading is an excellent activity with tons of scientifically proven benefits! Not only can you reduce your stress levels, but you can also improve your memory, boost your imagination skills, expand your vocabulary, and enhance your focus and concentration. And that's not all! If you haven't had the time before, now you can catch up with your favorite series or read a book and compare it to the movie version. Now you can be the judge! Keeping up with pop culture has never been more fun.

Separate your work and home life

With many businesses shutting down, it's possible that you have to work from home now. If that's the case, make sure you don't let your private and professional life blend together. Rule number 1: don't work from your bed! Keep your bedroom for sleep and relaxation. Move your workspace to a separate room, preferably with a desk or a table. You need to set clear boundaries and stick to them! When you're in your work zone, do your best, but after you clock out, that's it!

Talk to friends and family

Social distancing isn't fun, nor is it exciting, especially after such a long time. However, if you stay in contact with other people, you'll be more at ease. If you keep exchanging your thoughts with others, your days will be less lonely. Try to call, FaceTime, or have video conferences with your loved ones. Since you can't meet personally, there's no better way than this to know there are people who support you. Everyone feels this "new normal" is difficult. Nevertheless, staying in touch with other people can help you get through this!

Help others

Dealing with the whole quarantine situation is hard for everyone. If you're not careful and attentive, it's easy to get drowned in negative feelings. However, regardless of your mental state, there's something that can bring back a sense of purpose. And that's helping others! Some people are unable to function well amidst the pandemic. Look around and help out wherever you can. Do grocery shopping for your older neighbor, walk a family dog when parents need to stay home and help their children with homework, or share your food if you happen to cook too much. Little gestures can mean a world to someone in need, and you'll feel empowered by all the positive impact you have on others.

The situation we all found ourselves in is truly unprecedented. Now, more than ever, it's important to take care of your mental health and don't let the situation beat you. Have you tried some of these methods? If you learned something new, try to incorporate it into your daily routine to help you destress and relax. You have all it takes to manage your quarantine!
