Losing weight is one of the many goals that people all around the developed world strive for. Whether overweight or not, we all want to be better versions of ourselves. We want to make better food choices and be healthier in mind, body, and soul. To lose weight, it comes down to some simple things, but many of us try to take the easy way out because we are lazy or impatient. There are lifehacks for weight loss that involve basic lifestyle changes, which all of us can follow to see real results. If you want to lose weight, take into consideration new methodology and throw out the easy fixes you’ve heard of; chances are, you'll be better off in the long run.

It is recommended that everyone should drink half their body weight in ounces of water each day. One of the most important weight loss lifehacks out there is to drink water, because by staying hydrated, you can more easily reduce belly fat. Hydration keeps your body energized, free of toxins, on a regular digestion cycle, and keeps your metabolism on track. Your abdominal muscles will thank you if you keep your body hydrated, because when doing ab exercises and cardio, they will be able to work their hardest to burn fat. Plus, in general, drinking water is one of the few free things you can do to be happier and healthier overall.

Using a smaller plate is one of those lifehacks for weight loss that works to reduce your portion size in a mental way. If you use a smaller plate, you won’t be able to put as much food on your place. In turn, hopefully, you won’t eat as much. Unless you go back for seconds, that is; but hopefully, if you’re really making an effort to make good food choices and reduce your portion size, then this weight loss lifehack will work for you.

Not eating in front of the television is another weight loss lifehack that works in a mental way. When you eat in front of the television, you are distracted while eating. You consume more food because you’re mindlessly eating, and not thinking about the fact that you may be eating past your fullness trigger. Instead, go sit down at the dinner table as opposed to watching TV. That way, you focus on your food, and you can hear your fullness trigger go off in your brain and in your stomach.

Probably the easiest weight loss lifehack to include in your strategy is to get more sleep. When you sleep more, your body is able to function better when it is awake. Also, if you sleep more, you will have less time during the day to consume calories and put on weight. It’s a win-win situation. Without enough sleep, your body’s metabolism will be thrown off and your body may actually put on weight as a result. Make sure to get at least eight hours of sleep each night to stay healthy.

Using a food diary is an excellent weight loss lifehack that will help you eat more healthy food and make good food choices, because it holds you accountable throughout the day. As you record everything you eat and drink, you’ll be more mindful of the calories you consume. That chocolate shake will really sit with you when you understand that it cost you 500 calories. A food diary is an excellent way to stick to your weight loss goals.

Exercise burns more calories than anything else you could be doing all day. If you are trying to lose weight, you have to burn calories on top of the calories you consume to create a caloric deficit in your body. Cardio and weight lifting will be the essential ingredients in helping your body shed that fat and feel lighter and leaner, but incorporating and combining different tactics included in the best weight loss exercises will be sure to help you see body-positive results.

When considering your diet and reducing your caloric intake to lose weight, try increasing your daily protein and fiber intake. Both protein and fiber are great weight loss lifehacks, and will keep you feeling full for longer periods of time. Protein helps increase muscle growth, so if you want to get more toned, then protein will help you achieve your goals. Fiber helps the body with digestion, which makes it an excellent addition to any healthy diet. Fiber will keep your stomach flatter and promote body fat reduction over time. Including sources of plant-based protein will also increase your fiber intake naturally, and will cut out excess fat that would otherwise be found in red meat.

By limiting your intake of carbohydrates and sugars, your body will have to use more stored energy and protein to burn fat and train hard. While carbs are essential to keep your body going, bad carbs such as white bread and simple grains are digested in the body as sugar. They are not helpful when you are trying to lose weight. Stick to finding delicious ways to reduce carbs and exercise as your main weight loss tactic in order to achieve your goals.

Drinking water as opposed to sugary, high calorie drinks is going to be a lifesaver in helping you lose weight. Many people don’t realize how many calories they consume through their drinks, whether it is soda, coffee, or alcohol. By cutting out high calorie drinks and sticking to water, many people can lose weight really quickly. This is one of the easiest and excellent weight loss lifehacks to follow.

The best weight loss lifehack of all is simply to reduce your overall caloric intake. The only way to lose weight is to consume fewer calories through healthy eating and burning calories through exercise. You need to consume fewer calories than you burn to get your body into a caloric deficit. There is only so much you can do when it comes to burning off calories, but with overall body fat loss, you can reduce lower belly fat as well by simply being aware of how much you consume. There are even meal portion control tips to help you reduce the amount you eat overall.

All of these weight loss lifehacks are simple, effective ways to achieve your goals. No gimmicks. If you incorporate these tips into your daily routine, you are sure to see results.
