Anastasia McGowanPublished 5 years ago in LifehackDirect Painting: A How-To for Oils
So you want to learn about painting with oils. That ancient, noble craft passed down from the Rembrabdts and the Caravaggios of bygone days, and the Monets and Picassos, a medium so adept at capturing the ideas of, well, anything! If you can imagine it, you can realize it in oils.
Shaking Bird ArtPublished 5 years ago in LifehackSpring Fever! đ
Spring is pretty much here, and I think I speak for many when I say it's about time! This is the wonderful time of year, when the day is finally long again, driving is no longer another form of ice skating, we can shrug on a thinner jacket, that doesn't make us look like we're taking style tips from snow balls, and we are excited when we see dirt and grass or even just the ground again. Spring is personally my favorite time of the year for all the little reasons. Birds are singing again, snow melts making way for gorgeous green fields and so many colorful flowers pop up out of seemingly nowhere. But this time of year also means something else: facing up to the mess that is your house after months of hibernation.
How to Save the World from Your Couch
We can all agree that climate change is real, right? Okay, so even if youâre a non-believer for whatever reason, at least we as a society can agree that we definitely produce too much waste, and in general are not the most conscientious about being socially responsible as much as we could.

Eada HudesPublished 5 years ago in LifehackFun Things to Do on the Internet When Youâre Bored
Boredom is a huge problem that drains energy and can prove harmful mostly for people with chaotic schedules. What is important is not to feel bored for long, because it can be detrimental. What you need to do is find an activity that will keep you busy. Also, try not to kill time, but spend it so what youâre doing brings you joy. Sleeping all day and wandering off to dreamland in your head is easy, but not beneficial. Checking email and social networks is also a bad idea, because it messes up attention span and causes anxiety and stress.

Angel McCallPublished 5 years ago in LifehackHow I Got a Bunch of Free Stuff Writing for Companies
There is a lot of power in giving a company your feedbackâbe it positive or negative. I've learned this through the years, but it wasn't until this year that I went pretty hard at it. You may have heard of the Flattery Project or the 39 Dollar Experiment. Either way, my best bet is that you're trying to save money.A few years ago, the show Extreme Couponing blew up. A lot of people had doubts and concerns and while I don't feel that Extreme Couponing really shows how realistic couponing is, it can still save you a lot of money. So, I started with Dawn. I got a few dollar off coupons, coupons for Lay's as well and walked out of a Dollar Tree (yes, they accept coupons!) only paying $0.06 for everything. On top of that, I'm not from a well to do family, but I know that there are people who need help even more than usâand animals. I ended up receiving Purina coupons and being able to use them to donate to our local shelter. You find the best deal in your area and apply the coupons. I get a lot from coupons.com, but a lot of the holy grail (free item coupons) come from giving feedback to companies. I've gotten two free VIP ones from So Delicious, along with Tofutti also giving me one VIP coupon, on top of several high value ones. Another favorite was Chobani yogurt and not only for the savings, but they truly put thought into the hand written card that came with the coupons. On top of that, I'd also written Wiley Wallaby and they told me they'd send samples instead of coupons. SAMPLES. They weren't SAMPLES, they were FULL SIZED BAGS! Five of them! All in all, I'd say it's worth it to write companies but I'd also say to remember to BE HONEST. Some companies will offer stuff even if you aren't complimenting, but a complaint has to be an honest complaint. The thing is, companies love to hear what a good job they're doing when they're working hard and most days they're filled with complaints.Oh, yeah! If you're a parent with a kid who loves Go-Go SqueeZ, they sent us some coupons along with temporary tattoos for the kids! If you're an expecting mother, a lot of companies like Gerber, Similac and others send high value coupons to you as well.
Candi HernandezPublished 5 years ago in LifehackHow to Make Legitimate Income Without the Taxes
Letâs be serious here for a moment. Unless you are really into math and reading through government regulation booklets, tax season can be a real pain in the you know what. Figuring out what is and is not taxable can be confusing. But, in the event that you might be interested in finding out some ways to make some cash that the government wonât be expecting a cut of, here are a few options.

Patty McDanielsPublished 5 years ago in LifehackPractical Drills for the Home Defense Shotgunner
In this modern era, tactical rifles and carbines are in vogue and yes there are certain times where the carbine specifically in 5.56 is the better choice for the home, but everyone should learn to run a pump gun. You see, for many people a shotgun is a better choice as you can usually find a good one for much less than you would pay for an AR or other modern sporting rifle. Guns such as the Mossberg 590 or 500, Bennelli Nova and SuperNova, and the Remington 870 will give you a good working gun straight from the box with enough money left over to buy plenty of birdshot for practice and a good mix of slugs and buck. The value priced AR's may or may not run from the box and may or may not have good iron sights on them. Either way, the shotgun will be quicker to present to the target than AR iron sights at the close ranges found in a home.
