BLOATING DURING YOUR PERIOD

Bloating during your menstrual cycle is a common symptom in most females. It forms part of the collection of symptoms known as PMS or pre-menstrual symptoms. In this bracket are several side effects, including but not limited to, menstrual cramps, headaches, dizziness and bloating.

Today we will talk about what causes bloating during your period? And, what you can do to help relieve these symptoms, forever?

What is bloating?

If you’re not familiar with, what bloating is, here is the best definition. Bloating is transient appearance of weight gain, specifically in the abdominal region. It is associated with numerous changes in the body. The most popular cause of bloating in females childbearing age, is due to menstrual cycle.

Although it’s a common symptom no one wants to feel bloated.

What causes it?

Bloating is due to the effect of a change in hormone levels that regulate the the menstrual cycle. As the levels of progesterone and estrogen fall at the beginning of every menstrual cycles, bloating occurs.

Scientists have observed that while your progesterone and estrogen level decreases the body begins to retain water and salt predominantly in the abdominal region.. The main difference between bloating from PMS and other causes of bloating, it that size of the abdominal returns to normal within a few days after the new cycle began.

HOW TO MANAGE BLOATING DURING PERIOD.

Now, that you understand what causes bloating and how it affects your body, it’s time to get rid of bloating once and for all. Research shows that making adjustments to two aspect of your life, you will stop bloating. First, is to change the foods your eat during the days leading up to the beginning of the new menstrual cycle. Second, exercise regularly.

a. Eat the right foods

Foods can certainly reduce the effects of bloating simply because these foods contribute directly to the retention of water and salt in some way. So by using the outline I’m going to provide you you can help to eat better and stop bloating once and for all.

i. Avoid salty foods

The first set of food you should avoid are highly salted foods. Like your chips and snacks. The aim is to decrease your salt and water levels by increasing salt intake you contribute directly to the problem and more so where there is a lot of salt water will follow therefore there’s two times the effect of eating salty foods if you reduce your salty your salty food intake in your premenstrual cycle you can definitely reduce completely the amount of the effect of bloating.

ii. Diuretic foods

Diuretics objects or agents that helps to increase the body’s ability to eliminate water by the kidneys while it is a drug used in many different in heart and in many heart conditions diuretic you can have diuretic effects from foods as well some of these foods include asparagus pineapple Peaches cucumbers the ginger garlic. You might want to be careful with ginger because in some individuals ginger increases cramping that can increase your menstrual flow and also cause dizziness.

iii. Low carbs

High sugar foods like salty foods act as a water retention agent in the body moreover there is a lot of sugar there will also be a lot of water therefore reduce your high carb diet to a low carb high fiber diet will help to prevent the effects of bloating and more so it will help you to work out faster and reduce the decrease weight.

b. Exercise regularly

Last but not least is regular exercise just like exercise help to reduce weight by decreasing fat exercise act as a deterrent for bloating because it illuminates the space where water can accumulate in the abdomen..

Although I know it would be hard for you to exercise the way you would while you’re not on your period it is recommended you do smaller and less demanding exercise lik like your cardio exercises but avoid exercising that increases abdominal pressure like weightlifting.

Now that you understand the effects of bloating and how to manage it it is time that you reduce bloating once and for all especially during the period.
