High Voltage: Why high heels are dangerous for women's health

Women's health

How frequently do you wear high-heeled shoes? Yes, this is lovely: the leg appears longer and slimmer, the walk acquires a sensual charm, and the overall image is feminine, graceful, and exquisite.

Beauty, on the other hand, necessitates sacrifice. Only you know how much it costs in terms of sacrifices. Dr. Anastasia shagarova, who deals with female hormonal (and other) issues on a daily basis, explains why women's health can swing on a high stiletto heel

Internal organs and loins

When a woman puts on heels, she transforms into a trickster walking on a tightrope. She is continually pushed to maintain and regain balance. Because the centre of gravity has shifted forward, the lower back flexes instinctively. Furthermore, it bends in an unnaturally forceful manner.

In medicine, such deflections are referred to as lordosis. Constant back curvature threatens more than just lower back discomfort. Following in the footsteps of the spine, the internal organs of the pelvic region change their normal healthy position. Clamps are formed as a result of the displacement, as is the functioning of organs and their blood supply.

The external manifestation of the problem is the so-called "dropping belly," which does not go away after a strict diet or an hour of press exercise.

But the internal implications are far more heartbreaking. The pelvic organs become inflamed as a result of being deprived of a normal blood supply, squeezed, and displaced.

Now, recall which organs are located in the pelvic region and are vital to women. Yes, the ovaries are the primary source of the female hormone oestrogen. Unfortunately, such reproductive system issues might lead to infertility.

Flat feet and everything associated with them

A high heel implies that the woman is walking on her tiptoes. The heel is practically inert in this position, whereas the strain on the forefoot increases by 75%. An unequal load on the foot weakens certain muscles while putting an undue strain on others.

Flat feet are unavoidable due to weak foot muscles. Dr. Shagarova stated that according to official statistics as well as her personal observations from practise, women are ten times more likely than males to suffer from flat feet. This is due, among other things, to her obsession with hairpins.

Do not dismiss flat feet as a simple misunderstanding. This seemingly innocuous condition has far-reaching repercussions.

• The foot ligaments are derived from the pelvic muscles. Because our body is an integrated system, when one of the chain's links rusts, the entire chain collapses. The pelvic muscles, which soon atrophy with flat feet, suffer the same fate. The end outcome has already been documented - inflammation of the pelvic organs, ovarian dysfunction, and internal organ displacement.

• A healthy foot has a direct impact on the neck. A flat foot cannot function as a shock absorber (this is precisely the role nature intended for it). When walking, the full shock load impacts the spine, particularly the cervical and thoracic regions. The cervical vertebrae are crushed, putting pressure on the blood vessels and nerves that lead to the brain. The brain is malnourished and operates in a frugal manner. Remember that the pituitary gland (one of the brain areas) is in charge of hormone production. The subsequent relationship is self-evident.

In no case should flat feet be ignored. In addition to the listed problems with the hormonal background, it brings with it problems with all internal organs. Dr. Shagarova notes that, fortunately, there are techniques that allow you to work with correcting feet at any stage of the disease and at any age

What should I do?

Certainly not to slide into a pair of soft slippers. Soft, flat shoes are virtually as hazardous to one's health as high heels. The heel should be solid and at a medium height. To be more specific, 3-4 cm. One of the most recent shoe trends came in handy for a small low heel in a variety of designs ranging from a "glass" to a tapered and bevelled one.

If you must wear a high stiletto heel, limit your time while wearing it to no more than four hours. Dr. Shagarova recommends self-massage immediately following the publication. Rub your legs in a circular motion with your fist knuckles, from the tips of your toes to the heel, from the lower leg to the knee, and from the knee to the groyne. Raise the legs higher, for example, on the back of a chair or sofa; this increases lymph flow and relaxes the muscles.

Two simple workouts with hard spiky balls with a diameter of 7-9 cm will help avoid flat feet by strengthening the arch of the foot

1. While standing, press the ball with effort, gradually moving from the tips of the toes to the heel. It is critical that the pressure is applied as if you are attempting to "hit" the ball to the floor.

2. While standing, make clutching motions with your toes, attempting to squeeze the ball. Pay close attention to effort as well.

The exercises are done for 20 minutes, alternating legs.

Before you begin, make sure to thoroughly steam your feet by adding 1 tablespoon of salt and soda to hot water (the level of the solution in the basin is ankle-deep).

If you already have flat feet, spinal curvature, and other issues, don't give up. The most important thing is to get a qualified doctor and not let the sickness progress.
