Why I'm Never Working a 9-5 Job Again
Listen to this story on Write Here, Write Now: A Vocal Podcast. I go through a cycle almost every year. I get a job that seems great, good potential for advancement, swell benefits, and whatever else people tell you to care about. I fit myself into the mold and abide by the rules. Yet eventually, I can't help but realize how much time I'm spending at work. Someone else dictates what I do with my day. I lose my night to exhaustion.
What Medium Doesn't Want You To Know
I don't mean to spread a negative image of Medium, but I am committed to being forthright. As a writer, I know how exhausting the creative process is, and how sad it is to see it not being paid as well as it should be. So, yes: I think Vocal is better than Medium. Here you'll see why.

A job interview is a gateway to a better career and a better life. Hence, it is vital to prepare for it in the best way, leaving no stones unturned. I’ve been on Vocal for about a month. Actually today on the 28th January as I'm writing this is the one month anniversary of the publication of my first post on Vocal. In that time, four of my stories have been featured as staff picks (with the redesign, this is now called Top Stories) which is just mindblowing and amazing to me.

Amanda BadilloPublished 3 years ago in Journal7 Things You Find in Vocal That You Won't Find Anywhere Else
I'm a newbie writer. Sure, in the past I've written some short stories and kept them to myself. Initially, it changed from personal files on my hard disk to Blogger.com, where I kept my writings in private mode since I'm not the kind of person who shares my thoughts in public. Last year, I joined Medium during the lockdown, but my writing there was short-lived because it was not clear to me, the list of features that Medium supports, especially as an Indian writer (Medium Partner Program made too many changes for writers from India, Brazil, etc.). So, I was mostly writing on Medium to keep up with my passion for writing and not for audience or rewards.

Alesia BrooksPublished 3 years ago in JournalWhat I Wish I Knew About Writing When I Started
I’ve been writing a novel for over a year now. I know, I know. That’s way too slow. In my defense, it’s my first novel. I’ve made a lot of mistakes and learned a lot on the way. I went from floundering to having a clear path to the finish line in less than a month and I’m a week away from finishing my first draft. Here’s a few things I wish I’d known when I began writing.
