The Call Toward A Regenerative Legacy In Business

The Forgotten Art Within Leadership

Every morning I wake up to a Bible Verse to keep my mind Focused.

Today's Verse comes from the Letters of Saint Paul.

"We must consider how to rouse one another to love and good works."

Hebrews 10:24 NABRE

I then read a comment on one of my articles that I had posted to LinkedIn.

... I hadn't thought about it that way before, but your article inspired me to connect with the process more deeply. Thanks for that! ..."

Also in the morning, I was reading through a selection of articles on another platform I publish to called Vocal.

There is a fascinating community of authors there that I have been slowly finding myself within where there is a lot of Encouragement, Growth, and Talent.

All of these things together really got me thinking about Designing a Regenerative Legacy.

The most Powerful type of Legacy that a Leader can leave behind is one where those they are around feel Loved, Empowered, and Connected, and where they Flourish in every aspect of life.

As it has been said, All Flourishing Is Mutual.

If you are unable to "rouse" people toward good work as a Leader, you will not Flourish.

What is within your power to bring the BEST out of others?

For me, those powers are Writing, Speaking, and Coaching.

They may be different for you, and that is great!

We all have different powers and talents to bring forth to help others Flourish in different ways.

However, if you are not "rousing" others, then you are not properly using the powers or talents that you have.

There is a reason that 80% of people are in Burnout, and more are soon to follow if things do not change in the world of Business.

Leaders are Failing to "rouse" those around them.

Leaders are Failing to "see" the good works that others do and are further capable of.

There is so much Focusing on all of the wrong things in Business.

Profit, Time in Office, etc.

It isn't that these things are "inherently" bad - a Business that does not generate a Profit is not really a Business.

However, when we Focus on the Result, instead of the Process, we lose sight of what actually "Creates" the Results.

That is why it is rare to see anyone truly Flourishing when it comes to Business.

I see and hear so many Leaders in Panic, Disarray, and Chaos over the state of things as they Struggle so much.

All because they have forgotten that it is their Employees and Customers who "Create" the Results and are the Cause of any Flourishing.

Instead, most Leaders see their Employees as "Tools", and their Customers as "Cattle" to be "Milked" for every penny they don't have.

If this is how you do Business, you SHOULD be terrified.

The "Tools" are all breaking, and the "Cattle" have nothing left to give.

When Employees and Customers are not Flourishing, I believe that the business "should" Fail.

Sometimes it is a very slow and excruciating death, like an elderly person who is riddled with inoperable cancer and requires hospice to do anything.

But that Death will come.

You may be able to trick Stockholders for a time, through Mass Firings to "keep" an "acceptable" Revenue.

But how do you build without your "Tools"?

You can't.

However, Business does not need to be done like this.

Employees and Customers should be the "Life" of the Business.

When Employees and Customers Flourish WITH the Business, it creates a Cohesive Environment where Employees WANT to give their best, and Customers WANT to continue to use your products/services because they all BENEFIT together.

All Flourishing is Mutual.

Together, everyone Regenerates.

As a Leader, are you able to "Truly" rouse your Team and Customers to the best versions of themselves?

Or is every day a Battle that feels like you need to "force" others to do things they are hesitant to do?

If you are the latter, you need a new Strategy because the one you are utilizing is not working.

If you are the former, you must become better at it because the world is in desperate need of Leaders like that.

All flourishing is mutual - that is going to stick with me. Consider me roused!

Nice message in that bible verse. I think they had a lot of the same "eq" lessons back then that we do now. Its much better to pull out the good in people than to criticize them for the bad. (=most of twitter) Haven't been able to keep up with the articles after everything was published all at once after the DDOS attack ended.
