Thanksgiving 2022
Today is Thanksgiving Day. I wanted to take a moment to be grateful for the life I have, even with the ups and downs. I am so grateful that my partner and I are raising our two kiddos together, albeit in a non-typical style that simply works better for us.

Memories: 11 January 2026
11 January 2026 5:47 am I woke up because my resmed had stopped working. Twice during the night. Fortunately I woke up in time before I inhaled too much of my own carbon dioxide. I wonder what is causing my resmed to malfunction? The power had not gone off.

Letters to my Son: Day One
I'm seated at the desk in your room. Your dad is on a work call and I can hear him clearly through the shared wall. There is more light in your room than you'd like: I pulled back the blackout curtains and opened the blinds to let in the morning sun. Soon, there will be a warm bit of sunlight on your bed for basking, which I expect a certain six pound cat to find in about 30 minutes. The fat one has his own cozy blanket for basking in the sunlight of your dad's love on his desk. I occasionally hear them arguing about the leisurely pace 'Biggie Smalls' chooses while traversing the "productivity zone" to get to it.

Memories: 9 January 2026
9 January 2026 I was up until 2:30 am fighting with Avast to get my $74:99 back. They billed me even though I have not used their product in over two years and I had cancelled the subscription with them a year ago. I had to call them internationally.

7 January 2026 9:15 am … 7 January 2025 Well hello there, Beautiful People of Planet Earth. It’s a gorgeous morning, a veritable gift from the gods (which ones?) does it matter?! lol. This is a better result although the statistics are the same as yesterday…because I slept that entire time, apart from one pee break.

Daily Reflections
11/20/2022 And Behind it All Peeling back layers of things like hate and aggression. Like Judgement or Apathy. All of it comes from fear or hope. Not inherently bad things on their own and the two primal drives for a reason. To propel us towards or away from something.

Under the White Beard
Under the White Beard. The Hidden Costs of Portraying Santa Claus This year I decided to portray Santa Claus as I could still not return to my regular work due to an auto accident. In June, I started the task of growing a natural beard. I went to Santa Claus school, a unique experience in the middle of September.

4 January 2026 7:08 am … At 3:30 pm-ish I was toasting pita bread triangles with a fork over an open gas flame on my stovetop. Without even thinking I put the fork to my mouth and badly burned my lips. I heard the hiss of the hot metal hitting my flesh.
