Therapy Reflections
I was referred to therapy services after ongoing bouts of anxiety and burnout. I think the worst stages of my anxiety were back when I was a child. I was bullied a lot at school, teachers thought I would have a limited future and would never cope at a mainstream school. I cried a lot and hated being last because it made me feel like a failure. Because of multiple problems, I avoided doing PE or any physical sports. Now I go to the gym five times a week and been slowly building a better mind and body for myself.

Ready to dream of another...one day
Going through my abusive relationship was a lot for me to deal with. Right after, I thought I would never even dream of someone else. Not because he was the one person for me. But because I had been through so much, the thought of dealing with another man's shit was just too much for me. I told everyone that I would never date anyone else ever again. The thought of having to date someone else seemed exhausting. All I wanted to do was to focus on myself, my daughter and building us a better life. I also wanted to do it on my own. I wanted to prove that I could build my dream life without a man. Something that he never said that I could do. My ex always said that I needed him to build a great life for myself. So I wanted to prove that I didn't need that. I had heard people say that they didn't want to date anymore as they didn't want to listen to someone else breath, or they didn't want a man to ruin their day before 8am. It just showed how I felt.

The Voices in my Head
The little voices in your mind, telling you what to do or how to feel, self depreciation or even affirmations are probably different for you than they are for me.

When you're gone
Why do we care about people after they’re dead? In both the literal and social aspects? I have people in my family who have passed away, and I also have former friends who are dead to me. Frankly, it's ridiculous to dwell on people that you can no longer dwell among (save for a shovel pointed at the dirt or a gunman in attendance.) There is no more companionship to be gained, only the soft despair radiating from that part of your soul they used to visit.

He Hit Me First
I had a C-PTSD episode in the middle of the night. Writing it down is one of many things that helps me process sometimes, and it occurred to me that it may or may not be helpful for some to read. I’m hoping it might.

Walking Into the Naked Woods
As I stood at the edge of the timber, the crisp morning air transferred jitters down my spine, but it was not just the bite that made me vacillate. The quiet rustle of leaves and the distant call of birds added to my uncertainty. The forestland impended before me, a distraction of bare branches reaching towards the sky like outstretched arms, inviting and bogarting all at formerly. I have always felt a pull towards nature, a deep-confirmed connection that tugs at my soul and beckons me to explore. But moment, as I peered into the depths of the timber, I felt a stitch of query eating at the edges of my resoluteness. What secrets lay hidden within those ancient trees? What mystifications awaited me in the heart of the forestland? With a steadying breath, I took my first step into the unknown.
