How you can hire peoples for work?

Picture this: your business is expanding and it’s time to hire your first round of employees. Congrats, that’s quite a milestone! All you need to do now is

fill out the right business forms,

draft role descriptions,

create a job application,

find great candidates,

review resumes,

have them fill out all the necessary paperwork, and

make sure you have a strong company culture for them to enter into.

For a while, let's hit the pause button-is your mind spinning? This is a new territory for most business owners, and navigation alone is a lengthy, stressful process with potential for many tests and errors.

Ramon has sat down with Donna Morris, Xtra Pair's Managing Director at Hands DC, who is preparing to recruit her first round of staff. They were joined by Kedma Ough, VP Company Coach of Automate Grow Sell, and Jaime Lizotte, Solutions Manager for ComplyRight Inc. HR & Tax Compliance. Their review was thorough and informative and included all facets of recruiting. Whether you are a company that has hired employees or just started like Donna, many good information has been gathered.

Build the Right Team

You can't build a team unless you know what it takes. Kedma spoke of a common event among entrepreneurs: control freaks. That means you can do everything and do it better than others. You therefore need to go out of your own way to hire staff. Kedma also reveals how business owners tend to employ workers like themselves, but that's where the error is. You need staff who bring additional skills to the table and can help you look in new ways at situations.

What does that mean? What does that mean? This means that companies need to be well prepared before interviews take place. Jaime recommends the creation of a job application, not just a resume to tell the whole story. A job application may ask questions which a curriculum vitae may not usually answer, so you will understand more clearly who you are interviewing.

But in an application, you can't ask anything, you have to make sure it's compliant. When you don't know what conforms, it's necessary to find out. Certain questions should not be asked and if a candidate reported it, a business can be put in hot water.

There are also provisions on employers where other compliance paperwork are not duly filled out while a recruit is included. Jaime also mentioned something she describes as "accidental discrimination." .. we call it accidental discrimination as [ business owners ] don't know they really are. It's not conscious. You just don't know what you don't know until you know ..." Accidental discrimination can occur during the interview process if the employer asks discriminatory questions. And in many cases the employer does not know how to stop it. That is why it is so important that you use a company like ComplyRight when you start that new step of your business growth.

Why It’s Important to Get it Right the First Time

Donna, as business owner, found all this information invaluable, and she said how many small business owners are used to it — first of all, doing what you have to do to do it. Sadly, this could mean cutting costs for many small businesses when it comes to HR and enforcement. But, if you are going to take the business to the major liga as Donna coins it, you have to make it legal. Donna said she wants her business one day to be able to franchise, and she recognizes that it will be difficult if she does not now build a solid foundation of practice. It may cost a little more and add time to the recruitment process, but without repercussions it positions your business for long-term growth.

Here’s a little background on each panelist, as well:

Kedma Ough, MBA, is a nationally recognized specialist in business development and corporate financing. Kedma is an creative and visionary theorist, award-winning small business advocate and corporate adviser to individual inventors. She is also a proud fifth generation entrepreneur whose grandfather purchased different products in Ireland.

Donna Morris is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Xtra Pair of Hands, DC — a company that she founded in 2001 and which currently employs 15 people and has over 500 customers throughout the city. It began as a friend stuck at the last minute Thanksgiving dinner and didn't know how to take a big dinner off. Donna was a hustler in the heart and helped her grandmother in the kitchen. Nobody addressed smaller events in Washington, DC and with Donna's personality, attention to detail and strong background in customer service, the rest is history.

Jaime Lizotte is a ComplyRight HR and employment expert. Jaime joined the ComplyRight product development team in 2007. She has since been managing and developing a wide range of HR solutions including training tools and safety products, HR and software for tax reporting.

Jaime worked as an HR director in a small marketing firm before joining ComplyRight. Her practical experience as an HR practitioner offers her unique insight into small businesses ' day-to-day challenges as she develops next-generation products to facilitate management of employees.

And Ramon Ray has founded four businesses and sold two, if you don't know his history. He is the author of several books, including the latest book, "Celebrity CEO — How Business Entrepreneurs Can Thrive by a Building Community and a Strong Personal Brand."
