Understanding Stress Secrets To Get To Your Goals

I was reading a sermon from a Pastor whose work I deeply admire when I was reminded of a powerful concept that is extremely potent at this time of year.

Every New Year, people become SO excited to start new Habits, to strive towards new Goals, and to Achieve new Successes.

However, what if I were to tell you that this approach likely won't work?

There is a reason that 91% of New Year's Resolutions Fail every year.

It isn't because people don't have a strong enough Desire to reach their Resolutions.

It's not because they don't have the "Willpower" to Achieve them.

It also isn't because they physically can't Achieve them!

In fact, I'd argue that most Resolutions are more within our Power than we realize!

What is the Challenge then?

Perhaps the most Beneficial thing we can do is Stop more in our Lives.

To Understand what I mean, we must first understand Stress.

See, "Stress" is not "one" thing, but rather it is a Spectrum.

Within that Spectrum, you have Eu-Stress (Good Stress) and Dis-Stress (Bad Stress).

Any "Stressor" in our lives can be either Eu-Stress OR Dis-Stress.

It is possible for Work Stress to be Eu-Stress.

It is possible for Dieting to be Dis-Stress.

However, what is it that determines whether things are Eu-Stress or Dis-Stress?

It's a quote I say often.

All Stress Adds.

See, as you combine more Stressors in your life, you go further along the Spectrum until eventually you are in Dis-Stress.

The biggest Problem in today's Society?

80% of people are in Burnout.

Burnout is simply the word for Extreme Levels of Dis-Stress.

Now, if you "add" a Stressor on top of your Burnout, you go back to "All Stress Adds".

Really you're just making things worse!

With so many people already in Burnout, and even more on the brink of it, it is no wonder that 91% of people FAIL their Resolutions!

Resolutions are Changes in our Lives, and all Change is a Stressor!

Adding Change to Burnout is a recipe for Failure!

So the "key" is to get OUT of Burnout!

The EASIEST way to Accomplish that?

STOP doing so many things!

What can you STOP Immediately that will Immediately Lower your Overall Stress?

If you want a Resolution to Succeed, you need to keep it within the Eu-Stress Zone.

This is ONLY possible when you first get OUT of Dis-Stress!

But is it difficult to Reduce Stressors?

It is MUCH simpler than we realize!

I actually have a list of 40 different things anyone can do to IMMEDIATELY lower Stress levels!

These are things you could literally do by the end of today, it is that easy!

So many people have a BUNCH of tiny things that don't "seem" like much of a problem UNTIL you realize that All Stress Adds.

These "tiny" things all add together to become a BIG problem!

So, honestly look at your Life and ask yourself what you could eliminate in the next 24 hours that would help reduce your Dis-Stress.

The next easiest thing you could do?

FINISH things that are still in the works!

We as Humans have this tendency to add more and more things to our plates, without ever finishing any of them.

So FINISH some of them!

Get to that point where you "Stop" having it on your plate.

Instead of Adding all of these things, and ADDING to the Dis-Stress, FINISH some of the things that linger so they are no longer a Stressor!

When you look at Psychology, our Brains HATE when things are left unfinished!

Anything unfinished becomes a Mental Stressor.

The longer they remain unfinished, the more Energy (Mg-ATP) will be diminished, leading to more Dis-Stress!

But if you just FINISH those things, then they can stop being a Stressor, which opens up your capacity to take on NEW Resolutions you want to accomplish!

So, if you have some Resolutions you would REALLY like to accomplish this year, maybe you should FIRST look at what to STOP.
