Getting a raise at work is everyone's fantasy. Nobody wants a life at the workplace feeling stagnated in terms of money getting. Everyone wants to have more in order to purchase more of the stuffs they want in their lives.

Be it more or less, no one would reject a raise every now and then. Getting a raise sometimes is the most exciting thing to have in a career. Boo, your colleague got it, but he or she is hiding it from plain view. How about you? You want a slice of the cake too! Furthermore, there is a family at home to raise and rear. How could you be left out of this?

Getting a raise is not straightforward. It requires intelligence, hard work, and perseverance. Not every boss will give you what you wants, unless you give him or her what they want first. This is transactional, a leadership based on exchange.

Now that we understood that it requires a lot to get more, let's delve into the few tricks I will share with you in order to get a raise at the workplace :

1. Love your superior

Loving your superior comes as the most important thing you must ever do in a work environment. Do not come off as a fiend or competition to your superior's dominance in that environment.

You must treat your superior as an admired person to you. Love him or her as if your own siblings. Take care of his or her needs, desires, and words. Listen attentively as they speak to show that you care. In doing so, you will be treated in the same manner also, that is, almost unconditionally.

2. Perform your ultimate effort

It is very important to make sure that you perform your ultimate effort. Ultimate simple means things such as 'the highest', 'the farthest', or 'the best' you could render of your service. In doing so, you never take more than you give.

Your superior will notice that you are giving more than what he will ever give you. This is what a business is all about, that is, to gain profits, for the upper people.

Actually, if you would provide more usefulness to the business, you will be cherished as an asset, rather than a liability which will only incur losses. As an asset, you will ever be productive in terms of generating more money for the business.

3. Work senselessly

As with above, as an asset that is worthwhile to keep, you must make sure that you will work senselessly so as to produce more of your value.

In order to be appreciated as an useful employee, you must do work. Without work, you are just a wastage, that produces nothing but waste.

Whatever it is, do not waste even a little bit of time while getting paid money. Otherwise, you will be just an valuable asset that just sit around being unproductive.

4. Care about your image

On the topic of caring about your image, you must make sure that you will not be seen as anything bad or undesirable. This is to ensure that your status as an asset is kept.

For example, if you would scream profanities at your co-workers often, then you are deemed as disruptive to the synergy of the business. No one would like a colleague that is hostile around. Who knows what is his or her true motive in being there in the company?

5. Take time to help your superior

The more time is spent helping your superior, the better the impression you etched on to his or her brain of you.

Help him or her in most of their affairs, in that you will make yourself indispensable. Without you being around, it's hard to get anything done.

6. Make ado with everybody's problems

Be sure to keep an eye on everybody's problems. It is not busy body per say, but merely being of everybody's help. In being like that, you too make sure that there will be support from everyone of your eventual pay rise.

Because, if you would be too useful for everyone, everyone would want to ensure your survival, well-being, and happiness.

As a conclusion, there are a few tricks you may employ to keep yourself viable as a target for that annual or quarterly pay increment exercises. By practicing these tricks, you will ever be richer as you progress through your career.
