Are We Doing Enough?

Really?

There are times when I get incredibly disheartened looking out at the world.

I recently wrote about the horrible things that happen to Foster Children in the US.

That doesn't even begin to get at the other horrors occurring around the world.

I see the accelerating rates of disease, sickness, anxiety, and depression in our communities.

I recently read that 90% of "Carbon Offsets" have fraudulent claims.

I read "scientific studies" that actively slant results to tell stories that allow companies to sell things that hurt the people impacted.

I hear businesses make grandiose claims about the causes they support, only to turn their backs when it matters most.

Is this really the best we can do?

Is this all we have to look forward to?

Broken promises?

Lies?

Horrors untold and unseen?

It's true, I get disheartened seeing this.

However, if anything this means that I need to stand taller.

There are things happening in the world that shouldn't.

Who is going to stop them?

There is a concept from Stoicism called, "Amor Fati".

Love of Fate.

We find ourselves in a time where terrible things occur, yes.

But we are here, right now, for a reason.

We can sit or lay disheartened, and give up if we choose.

Or we can choose better.

We can "Love" that we are here right now because we can "Do" something about all of this.

We can choose to see the things that Dishearten us, and instead use them as Fuel for the Fire burning fiercely inside us.

That Fire needs to be let out, it needs to be expressed in our world.

How will you use the Fire inside you?

There are many things going wrong in the world, yes.

What are you doing to not just change it, but IMPROVE it?

Do we hold our Leaders accountable for what they say they will do?

Words mean nothing without action.

Do we talk about the things we see need improvement?

Change in the world does not happen in silence.

Do you actively support these causes that fuel your Fire?

If you have money, do you use it toward these causes?

If you have time, do you give it to help these causes?

If you have talent, do you use it to support these causes?

If you have a way for things to improve, do you give your ideas to these causes?

What are you doing?

Will you just grumble about it to yourself, or will you Rise Up and become an Exemplar?

Feeling sorry for the state of things accomplishes nothing.

Action is what is required.

Fuel the Fire inside you.

If you don't feed that Fire, it will eventually extinguish and you will fall prey to despair, or worse.

Will you allow that to happen to yourself?

Don't sit and feel helpless, thinking you have nothing to contribute.

What CAN you do?

We all hold far more power than we realize, we simply need to use it and leverage it toward what we want to see in the world.

I will never promise that life this way will be easy - it never has been.

I won't promise that doing this will lead to an everlasting feeling of happiness - all emotions are fleeting.

But if you fight for what you believe, you'll live a better life than most people.

We are not made to be bystanders in life.

We are designed to Impact the world!

Is this really the best we can do?

I challenge you to REALLY think about it.

Is this all we have to look forward to?

It doesn't have to be.

You will need to fight though.

You will need to act.

You will need to add Fuel to that Fire inside you.

You will need to give everything that you are able to.

Become the Exemplar the world needs - Become Legendary!
