Just A Quick Bath
Got To Start All Over
End of the day. Time to unwind and relax. Just got home. Today was very long. I start to yawn. Should I eat first? Or just hop in the tub? A decision I took time to make in my head. Wait I can do both, eat while in the tub. Once out I can go straight to bed.
Got my favorite liquid soap, for the best bubble bath in the world. And a bathbomb that's shaped like an ice cream swirl. Make my water smell like a cherry pie, so yummy 😋. Did I mention that I was hungry? So after stopping up the tub, by pushing in the plug, I turned the water on all the way to warm, then poured in my cherry liquid soaps until bubbles starts to come. Once halfway full I turned the water off and put in the vanilla-smelling bathbomb. Now time to get some food. I'm about to eat good.
Ooo A bowl of Chili with Crackers and cheese, yes please! So I fix my bowl and grab the whole bottle of wine. After a hard day at work I can finally unwind. I live alone, so the whole bottle is mines.
“gup, gup,gup” goes the tub.
“Is my water going out?” I said out loud talking to myself.
“That was yummy.” I heard someone say.
I look at the tv and it was off. So I ran back in my room, rush to place the food and wine next to the tub. Took my clothes off, now its time for a rubber dub dub.
“Wait why is there no water in this tub?!” I yelled to myself in confusion.
“Because I drank it all” said the tub.
“Ahhhh!” I yelled.
“Why are you talking?!”
The tub then transformed into a more alive form. There was an eye on either side of the faucet. The drain was its mouth. The plug was next to its mouth after he spit it out.
“Why are you yelling?” The tub ask calmly.
So scared I jump out the tub and wrapped myself in the towel quickly.
“Ahh, I’m naked,”I yelled.
“Girl don’t be scared I seen all that before. You ain’t got much to look at anyways.” Said the tub.
I sat on stool next to the tub, gagged at the comment he just made.
“Rude” I said after gasping.
“What? It’s the truth. You’re flatter than a tire with no air in it. “ said the tub.
“Haha” laughed other objects in the bathroom.
I just sighed, close my eyes, and took a sip of my wine bottle; in hopes the objects will turn back to normal. But it didn’t work.
“Getting drunk ain’t going to make us go away, It just going to make the room start spinning. “ said the talking toilet.
“Uhhh, I just want to take a nice quiet bath! Please just all of you shut up!” I yelled out of stress and frustration.
“Okay I won’t drink it this time, It tasted yummier than usual and more fresh.” Said the tub.
“That’s probably because you usually drink it after I’m done scrubbing the dirt off my body.” I replied with an eye-rolled.
“Oh that makes sense. But it was so good can I have more “ asked the tub.
“Yeah can we try it too”, asked the sink, the toilet , and the shower.
“No I can’t just throw money down the drain, you guys” I told them.
“But we love it when you put things down the drain. “ They all said.
“Of course y’all do” I sighed. Then took another sip of my wine bottle.
“Not my Bath and Body Works products, these stuff are too expensive” I added.
“Okay It’s time to fill you up again Mr.Tub.” I said while getting off the stool.
“Fine, but can you clean me with the Mr. Clean foaming spray and not the bleach after you get out , I love how Mr. Clean feels on my skin and it makes me glow” asked the tub.
“Sure” I agreed while shaking my head.
“Hurry up and filled up all ready, I’m ready to take my medicine and go to bed!” I yelled, out of being irritated, aggravated, and agitated.
I just wanted a relaxing bubble bath like the one Jasmine described in her poem 🥺.
