Oh, the lengths we go to

A cricket player travels to see the first soccer match in his life. He stays at the same hotel where the best winning soccer team stays.

At night he hears a strange sound in one of the rooms.

The next morning, he asks one of the soccer players: ‘’What was that strange sound I heard last night?’’

To which the man answers ‘’I can’t tell you, because you’re not a soccer player’’.

The cricket player becomes so curious, that he decides to become a soccer player.

For a whole year he cleans the team’s showers, washes their uniforms, and shines their shoes,

After that year was over, again he asks what was that sound he heard, to which the player answers:

‘’I can’t tell you, because you’re not a soccer player’’.

So he decides to stay for another 2 years, and mows the grass on the field, repairs the goalie’s net, and washes the dishes after their meals.

After those two years were over, again he asks what was that sound he heard, to which the same player answers:

‘’I can’t tell you, because you’re not a soccer player’’.

But the cricket player was even more curious now, so he decides to stay for another 3 years, and washes the towels after every game, scrubs the floors, and gets to play in a few games, kicking the ball occasionally. .

After the 3 years were up, again he asks one of the soccer players: ‘’What was that strange sound I heard that night at the hotel?’’

To which the man answers ‘’You are a soccer player now, so I can tell you. Follow me’’. And he leads the cricket player turned soccer player through some dimly lit undergrounds of the soccer club, they reach an unmarked room, open the door to a sparsely furnished room, walk in, cross the room to reach another door, and go down 2 flights of stairs being led only by the cellphone's flashlight, and finally the cricket player far in the distance can hear the exact same sound that he heard at the hotel years before, and he sees the source of that sound.

… But I can’t tell you what it is, because you’re not a soccer player!

Curiosity is a great driving force, that helps us go where we've never gone before, but if allow to cut the restrains on our curiosity, it is for certain going to lead us astray.

Curiosity is the culprit of scrapes and bruises in childhood, some of us still have those scars to remind us of those deeds decades later, and we even show those scars proudly to others, while retelling the stories of bravery mixed with that unbridled curiosity.

A young boy was walking on the sidewalk near a tall fence. On the other side of the fence he could hear some people yelling, "9, 9, 9, 9!" Curious, he wanted to see what was going on, but the fence was too tall to jump overtried to jump up and see over the fence, to see what's going on but the fence was too tall. But then, fortunately for him, a hole in the wooden fence, that was just on his eye level. He carefully leaned in to peek through that hole to see what was going on on the other side. As soon as he put his eye to see what was going on, he could feel awful pain, because someone from the other side of the fence poked his eye with a stick! And at that exact moment, he could hear the people shouting, "10! 10! 10! 10!"
