I am an Allied Settler, In Katzie Territory of what we call British Colombia. I am one of the remnants of a conquered culture that faced an overtly violent oppressor.

My family on my mothers side have been here in North America since the late 1700’s. My Father was the first of his family to settle here.

I am descended on my mothers side from the ancient Brittonic Tribes. The Irish McArthys on my fathers side.

We were the Cornish Celts, and may or may not have been connected with the Iceni, though their most famous Queen stands as Heroine to us non the less.

Queen Boadicea

I have been blessed to have been adopted by Indigenous Elders that reside in so called BC.

Through this connection, I have been immersed and educated about the effects of colonization in the modern World.

Through the stories of residential schools and systemic racism faced by the Indigenous of Turtle Island, and the approaches of North American Colonizers, I have been inspired to discover what became of the Indigenous of Britannia.

England is to the Britonic/Iceni what Canada is to the Indigenous. The Nomenclature of the Oppressor.

Boudicca

The Fact is, violent oppressors have dominated the historical narratives. Ommiting and even criminalizing the defending populations. Their bloodthirsty ways of claiming territory, display the true definition of barbarism.

The approach has been to do everything they (invading colonizers) can to wipe out any remnants of the existing culture, in order to intimidate and control any remaining shreds of a civilization.

The Ancient Brittonic and Irish kings did not lead or colonize in this manner. The Celts had expanded their populations beyond the shores of Britannia WITHOUT genocide. This modality of leadership was directly targeted and systemically wiped out.

What is most disturbing about this is it has not changed in thousands of years.

I stand before you the un killable spirit of the Celts. Re awakened by my time in the Sacred Sweat Lodges of North American Indigenous Traditions that have been preserved by the brave and the powerful wills of their keepers.

King Arthur’s court was not a myth. He was a king who united ALL the kingdoms of the land.

The Roman occupation of this Kingdom, one of the first genocidal acts of an oppressive colonizer.

In 60 Annu Domini, Boadicea amassed an Army of 230,000 loyal subjects to address the colonization and systemic genocide that the Roman Empire had brought to Britannia.

It was a massacre of epic proportions, inspired by the will of her husband to leave his two daughters heir to the Iceni throne, in what was supposed to be co operative leadership with Tacitus and his ilk.

They Raped and murdered them upon his death.

Three Roman Settlements were dessimated, Camulodunum, Londinium, and Verulamium.

Camulodunum had been a sacred and ancient stronghold of all the ancient tribes, also known as Camelot. The occupation of which was followed by the rape and murder of Boadiceas daughters. Boadicea was characterized by a British Monk names Gildas, as a

Treacherous Lioness”

It was a massacre. A massacre that almost drove the Roman occupation out of these territories.

Almost.

The fighting continued long after the death of Boadicea, which to this day had no confirmable account. Some say she was flogged to death, and others say she committed suicide.

The Battles continued for 400 years, pushing the Rebellion further south and into the territories of my ancestors in Lanuthnoe, ( St.Erth) a place considered hallowed ground. Where the Brittonic Tribes were ultimately defeated.

The Roman Empire did eventually let go of its death grasp on this continent, after it had absorbed its resources and found its population to be at last passive and subdued. Turning their violent and greedy eyes to the search for more...always more

Historical accounts suggest that once the Ancient Kingdoms has been defeated, The Roman Emperors no longer facing battles from a subdued and passive population simply left.

Or did they?

You are not forgotten

With all the love in my heart, and the will to end violent colonization. Thank you for reading my Tribute to Boadicea
