With the impending elections coming up in South Sudan President Salva Kiir Mayardit is under pressure from not only Western government but the African Union to have a violence and corruption free election.
I've written about President Kiir before, he had a cameraman and several reporters detained for a leaked video of him urinating on himself. He's held office in South Sudan since 2011, he's sacked his vice president and they've been at war ever since.
There are other more complex issues currently taking place in South Sudan, a country where over 40% of the children born in the country don't live past their 5th birthday. Several African countries are clamping down on freedom of speech and free press, Ghana, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Mali, Senegal, Cameroon and others.
