Freedom is one of the first human demands that have accompanied human history in different ages. It is one of the indispensable human traits; Through it, a person achieves what he wants without being constrained or forced, and for its importance poets sang about it, and authors wrote about it, and many people sacrificed for it.

A person is born free from any restrictions that prevent him from enjoying a decent life.

Freedom concept

The definition of freedom varies according to many criteria, such as time and place, and for that there are many definitions that have been developed to describe it.

The Declaration of Human Rights issued in 1789 AD described freedom as: (the right of the individual to do everything that does not harm others).

The word freedom means that a person can make a decision by himself and by his own will, whether the decision affects the material or moral aspect, without being forced by any other party.

With regard to freedom as a concept, it is that the individual enjoys a comprehensive framework that regulates personal freedom and also protects the freedoms of others, meaning that each individual has his own freedom as long as he adheres to its limits and does not infringe on the freedom of others.

As his freedom ends at the beginning of the freedom of others, and a person must be aware that he lives on this world in partnership with many people, and each of them has a right to freedom like himself.

All religions, systems and laws have guaranteed and encouraged this right.

And if we describe what we have described about man’s longing for freedom, we do not reach from its proof what the sensory events that occur from individuals and nations have reached, indicating that freedom is life, rather it is dearer than life.

The importance of Freedom

Man seeks his freedom in all aspects of life; He seeks it psychologically by facing the consequences, fears, anxiety and difficulties.

Socially, by removing the authority and the obstacles imposed on him by the surrounding society, philosophically by getting rid of everything that deprives him of his freedom, making his decisions, and appreciating his choices, and legally by rejecting the power of the strong over the weak and his robbery of his rights.

The importance of freedom in our lives appears in several points:

. The individual exercises his abilities in the place he chooses of his own free will.

. Disseminate information and make statements without fear of an authority to silence mouths.

. Organizing social life and creating harmony between the groups of society in order to achieve happiness and eliminate injustice.

. State power; Since the imposition of laws and coercion generates a state of repression and lack of belonging, the application of freedom leads to the people’s participation in the making of laws and legislation, and thus their feeling that the state is going according to their proposals and desires, and the absence of an external source that imposes on them their decisions and their system of life, which increases their sense of responsibility.

. Freedom from the bondage of lusts, oppression and servitude.

. Freedom from social and psychological obstacles that hinder a person from performing his effective role.

. Developing the individual's energies and skills by his personal effort.

Steps to apply Freedom

Realizing the mind and training it in thinking, discussion, and brainstorming, and getting rid of the collective mind’s control over the way of thinking, and not being satisfied with ready-made solutions to problems.

Searching for modern methods of education away from repression, reprimand and violence, both at home and at school; So that the child becomes accustomed to freedom and not to be subjected to the authority or tyranny of anyone.

belief in the freedom of others; Freedom is a concept based on social solidarity and the participation of others. Just as a person loves to enjoy his freedom and exercise his rights and duties without domination or oppression, he must believe that this is also the right of others.

The more restrictions around human beings, the more societies become tied in their place and there is no meaning for their existence in this life, as if they live in darkness without a soul in a life full of frustration and unhappiness. To everything that is new, and the invention of everything that facilitates life for humanity, which makes the human being more powerful and capable of facing all circumstances and challenges, which ultimately leads to the strengthening, prosperity and development of societies.
