Kristy Faris

It was a week that he did not see coming, when he got the call that his father had passed away, he thought he was going to grieve his loss with his beloved wife. But 3 days after he lost his dad, he had to take his wife to the hospital. Now, he was faced with grieving a possible second death, the life of his wife was now in danger and instead of grieving, he had to spring into action and be the wonderful husband his wife had come to know and love. He had to put aside how he felt and take care of his wife.

Unfortunately, since covid hospitals have changed their policies. RL is not able to stay overnight with his wife. He must leave her by 6 PM and hope she has the strength to call and be called on the phone. He goes home to worry about her in peace, trying to deal with families, his worries, her worries, dealing with Medicaid, and money issues. Making phones calls and resting before going back to the hospital, he tries to put his worries to rest. Only to get a new worry. His property owners decide to sell his house and ask him if he is still interested in rent to own. They tell him that he has 2 weeks to give them the required 5 grand for the down payment to keep the house, or else he will have a 30-day notice to move out.

Upon speaking with his property owners again he was told that they can take it off the market if he gives them 2500, and he can then have the month of February to get the other 2500 for the down payment. Unfortunately, he does not such funds to buy his house or to find another place to live, as all his money has been used on gas to see his wife every day, and for her medical needs while trying to push through her Medicaid, and until Medicaid starts he is liable for those bills to maintain her care.

Kristy needs to come home to a stable and sanitary home once she leaves the hospital. She is currently in the hospital fighting renal/kidney failure as well as Scleroderma and Systemic Sclerosis. She also has fluid in her lungs. And the infection is now reaching her heart. She needs to come home to a safe place and can not be homeless or have utilities shut off as she can not be unable to keep her machines running that she may need when coming home.

Systemic Sclerosis is a rare and potentially deadly disease. It can not be cured; however, it can be treated. It is an infection that sees your healthy cells as invaders and begins attacking them, to where your immune system is unable to fight off germs and other bacteria. Making you unable to fight off infections. It makes your body shut down, which is why she is in kidney failure and on dialysis. She is waiting to find out if she will have to have a kidney transplant. She was supposed to have a biopsy twice already but was unable to due to other medical issues keeping her from being ready. In 3-4 more days, they will once again see if she is able to withstand getting the biopsy done.

Kristy needs her home to come home to, she can not stay in the hospital forever.

There is a go fund me active. As well as any tips for this article will go to the fund as well so, tip your heart out and help Kristy get to a safe and healthy home.
