Life had become a troublesome and worrisome task for Haley. From the bills, rent, and utilities; things have just been too rough. All Haley has ever asked for is money. Enough money for her to peace out from the world and live in her own small world where no troubles come, and she can just stay stuck in her head writing every single one of her emotions in her trusty little black book. As an independent woman whose been working her entire life the only way out that she saw was by working every single day of her life. She didn’t have time for relationships or hobbies or even any fun. All she had and all she thinks she will ever have is her trusty little black book filled with everything she wouldn’t dare to say out loud. However, that little black book could change her life and she would’ve never known it…

Present Day

Haley was getting ready for work when she heard a knock on the door. Opening it she saw a pink slip telling her she’s being evicted; she laughs and then throws it with the pile of the rest of them. “If they think they’re getting me out of here they are wrong” Haley dictates it in such a way that if you were there in front of her, you’d know she would be a force to be reckoned with and it seems her landlord knows it too. She goes off to work unknowing of what was to come when she arrived home.

Meanwhile...

The minute Haley leaves the landlord broke the knob on the door and forced his way in. “Let’s see how wrong I am ha!” with the fire in his eyes as he glistened in the joy of tearing down and kicking out such an “annoying” woman. He throws all of her belongings out in the street but keeps her little black book that she was always “shoving her face in” as he said. He knew it was the only way she’d feel even half of the annoyance that he’s felt with 12 months of her living there. However, after throwing everything out he thought “Why would I keep this book when I can just give it away, so she’ll never find it” with that, a smug smile shone on his face as he went out and handed her little black book to the first random guy he saw on the street and told him to “Do whatever you want with it”. The man took it in confusion and didn’t have the chance to give it back o he just shrugged and went on his way home. When getting settled in he keeps seeing this little black book in the corner of his eye. The compulsion was so strong that he decided “Eh, it’s probably just some cheap book let me take a stab at it”. After reading it front to back, he figured out that it is not just some random tale but rather a detailed diary belonging to a 20-year-old named Haley who practically begged for money and a new life all throughout the little black book. He decides to find her and runs back to the apartment where he got it from.

As he pulls up to the apartment building, he sees a woman tearing through the items out on the street crying and screaming occasionally to the man that gave him this little black book. With common sense he deduced that the little black book was hers and sympathized with the situation she is in. Knowing that he comes from wealth he saw that he had no option but to help this woman…. a woman that he came to fall in love with just through the passion of the words scribbled all throughout the little black book.

He approaches her

“Hi, are you looking for this” he says while holding up her little black book. Immediately Haley starts sobbing and profusely thanking him for finding and giving her the most prized possession she’s ever had in her life. He tells her “I apologize but I did read through it, in hindsight the minute I saw it was personal I should have stopped reading it but it’s just that your life seems so terrible and looking at you now I see how much pain you go through and I want to help”. At that moment she stood up and slapped him stating “How DARE you read this black book, it is mine, it clearly has my name on it!” seeing the stun on his face and then looking around at her situation it had finally clicked to her that she indeed needed help and this man was the only person that has ever offered it. She looks into his eyes and says, “Help me”. With those two words his eyes lit up and immediately offered her to “Please move in with me and I will help you get back on your feet”. She goes “Err um no? I don’t want to live with anyone, yet I rather live on my own and we can maybe take things steady? But you can help me get a hotel for a couple of nights” while doing her best puppy eyes ever. He laughs at himself for even thinking he could convince such a strong woman to just come and live with him, so he goes “Well okay, how about a check?”. She nods her head as an acceptance of the offer and watches him as he pulls out his own little black book and writes her a check. She thanks them, they exchange numbers, and with one last smile he states, “I hope this changes your life forever and when you’re finally content with how your life is going and those pages on the little black book start getting lighter; call me”. As he drives away, she smiles and looks down at the check expecting at most $500 to cover a week in a hotel but the minute she saw the amount her jaw dropped and without a second thought she left all of her belongings, took her little black book, and went and deposited the money. Arriving at the bank the tellers already thought she was going to come in and ask for money but when she handed them the check for $20,000 even they couldn’t believe it. After explaining the situation and finally getting it put into her account she ran to the dealership, bought herself a car, the cheapest one but still enough. Took the car to the real estate agent and showed her the address that she wanted to buy which was roughly written in the brightest red on the first page of her little black book where she kept the important things. Haley says, “I want this house and I will pay for it right now in cash, all I need is the keys and deed”. The real estate agent got her the house and Haley picked up her belongings in her new car and went off to live her life happily in the mountains with her lump of money knowing that she will never ever have to struggle again.

All thanks to her little black book.
