Hey! I'm Amanda. I'm 32 years old. I have written here before about many topics including my own stupid love life. I wanted to write something for a girl who might be reading this and not feeling good enough. You may not know me but please know I see you and you are good enough. I have been through a lot in my 32 years of life. Abusive relationships, addiction and a lot more. I've probably written about it too! But now I'm about to graduate with my bachelors degree and applying for my masters. I have done a lot of work to get here. Both academically and personally. It took a lot of therapy and self-help books to even get me to a point where i wanted to go back to school and realize my long lost dreams of being a therapist. So this is an open letter to you. The Girl who is lying in bed not feeling good enough for anyone or anything.

You are. You have your whole life ahead of you, and all the things you have been through are not you. They are however giving you a story that you can use to help people. I now realize that my story was given to me to help others, I was meant to use my story to help others. I never understood why i was being put through all that. But now i know and it makes sense. I know you may not see it now (I didn't back then) But now that I do, it makes sense. I also want you to know that there is a defense mechanism in Psychology called projection. it's when people who atrributes a negative thought about themselves to another person. It's quite sad. But honestly the best revenge? Prove them wrong. Do what they say you can't do. And do it well. Here's a story for you, someone told me a long time ago i wasn't smart enough to get all A's or get a degree.

WELL I have a degree and i graduted with a 3.76 GPA when I got my associates and I am about to graduate with my bachelors. So to that person.i say HA! I did 2 things that someone told me I could not do. And i did it well. And walking across that stage was the most gratifying feeling in the world. I felt so good and i almost cried. Because i was so proud of myself. And i know i will do great things in the world. And you will as well. Please don't give up on yourself. You are meant for so much!

I really need you to hear me when I say this: You are not the version of you that people have in their heads. You are your own version of beautiful and you are not whatever negative things people have to think about you. Something I have learned in my 32 years of life, is that the most insecure people are often the most unhappy. So you should feel sorry for them, because they will never have the honor of smiling and accomplishing all you will. Please hold on. Don't give on yourself. I hope you know that you are worth it and nothing that happened to you is your fault. Please know that. I think we are all beautiful. I have had to cut a lot of people out of my life because they were toxic and holding me back. I deserve good people in my life as do you. I can't tell you this enough.
