A Letter to my Friends and Family. Top Story - November 2024.
To my dear friends, Some of you were only in my life a short time, or we have not met in person for far too long, due to whatever combination of factors. Some of you have been in my life for longer than I care to recall, a steady undercurrent in these turbulent times. Some of you I set out to make friends with, others snuck up on me without warning, until one day I turned around and discovered that the number of my friends had increased.

Panic
Dear Oh, you know who you are, First and foremost, hello. How have you been? Our conversations are getting scattered in the ether of excessive work, so any medium in a storm for us lighthouse dwellers, right? Doesn't matter. You do, I mean--Bare with me. I'm on another train, and after the next flight, sending this is going to take more than the 'while' that I'm willing to deal with not saying this. I've never been the inspired type, awaiting the vibe or even looking for 'the essence,' but this turnaround with you feels different. Plights from broken brains to over-worn feet pours before it rains to chronically piss on our life progression. The ups and delusions making that crazy anime you like a slog through an ADHD nightmare I've been in and the mess, so....

Dear Isabel. Runner-Up in Letters of Gratitude Challenge. Top Story - November 2024.
Dear Mom, I know you’ll never read this letter, and if I were to read it aloud to you, I know you wouldn’t understand it. So I write this as yet one more way to soothe my mental health.

An Emotional Appeal for a Lost Friend's Return
An Emotional Appeal for a Lost Friend's Return There are certain relationships in life that are bound not just by words but by deep, heartfelt emotions. One such precious bond is that of a friend. A true friend holds a unique place in our lives, someone who stands by us in every joy and every sorrow, offering their unwavering support. We all have that one special friend who has been with us through thick and thin, whose presence brings a sense of completeness to our lives. But when that bond is suddenly broken due to a misunderstanding or a minor argument, it becomes almost unbearable to cope with the emptiness left behind. Today, I find myself longing for the return of such a friend, without whom my life feels devoid of its true happiness. I don’t know where you are or how you’re doing, my friend, but even today, memories of you fill my heart with both joy and sorrow. I still remember our endless chats, our shared laughter, and the times when we comforted each other in pain. You were there by my side through every challenge, offering strength and reassurance. Today, when I look back, I realise how much you meant to me. We grew up together, shared countless secrets, and were like two peas in a pod. Yet, today, a chasm has formed between us, one so vast that I can barely recall what caused it in the first place. Do you remember that day when we had a small disagreement over something insignificant? In that moment of anger, perhaps we didn't realise that our words would create a permanent rift between us. But now, looking back, I see no sense in that argument. It has left me with nothing but your smiling face and your kind, loving heart in my memories. That petty misunderstanding ended up breaking a beautiful relationship, the value of which I’ve only come to fully understand now. Today, I stand before you, with folded hands and a sincere heart, asking for your forgiveness. Perhaps my words or actions at that time left a scar on your heart, and if so, I deeply regret it. You were not just a friend to me; you were a pillar of my life, the one I leaned on in times of need. Without you, everything feels incomplete. I yearn to talk to you, to laugh with you once more, to share tears and joy alike, just as we used to. My heart longs for the warmth of our friendship, which has left an irreplaceable void in my life. My dear friend, I have felt immensely lonely without you. Every time something good happens, the happiness feels dimmed because you’re not there to share it with me. In moments of deep sorrow, I find myself yearning for your comforting shoulder, where I could rest my head and cry freely. We’ve lost so much time and shared so much silence, but it’s not too late. Let us leave all these misunderstandings behind and start anew. Let’s forget the bitterness of the past and embrace the love and bond we once shared. Wherever you are, I ask you to come meet me just once. Let’s sit together and have a heart-to-heart conversation. Let’s open up, clear the air, and let go of any anger or resentment that may still linger in your heart. Life is too short, my friend, to be spent away from someone who once meant the world to us. It makes no sense to live apart from the friend who shared every laugh, every tear, every dream. Let’s reunite, forget all that has passed, and begin a new chapter of our friendship. Please, I beg you, listen to my heartfelt plea and come back. I am right here, waiting for you, holding on to the hope that one day you will return. My life without you feels incomplete, and your return is the only thing that can make it whole again. I believe that our bond is stronger than any misunderstanding, and I hope that you feel the same. I eagerly await the day when we can meet again, not as two strangers but as old friends who have been through the trials of time and emerged with a bond even stronger than before. Let’s put an end to this distance, for the sake of all the memories we have cherished together, for all the moments we have shared, and for the sake of the friendship that has defined so much of who we are. Yours truly, your old friend, who waits for you every moment, yearning for the day when we can laugh together once again.

For my nana
It was a surprise for you, me existing, but you accepted it without showing your disappointment. No surprise there, you have always had so much grace. I was born nearly six months before you turned 40, which made you a younger grandmother than you would have hoped for, but you were ready to make sure my life was filled with all the love you could give, no matter what. You dubbed yourself "nana" and got to work right away on providing me with unconditional love every single day. I don't think you can ever fully understand the importance of that love.

A Love Letter To Paul
Even as I sit beside you writing this, you are loud. Quite abrasive at times. There is no need to shout when I am so close to you. My voice remains steady at all times as you live in my heart when we are together or apart. I made an effort for you, as I always do. Lace skirt and tights and I cut my hair recently, did you notice? You have many other suiters, it is true, but none of them love you like I do. To them, you may be convenient as a pit stop on their way to something they desire. You know that you hold a certain novelty that others tire of. Not I, never.
