Matchmakers Help Love Seeking Singles in Long Beach
Online dating sites claim that they can predict attraction based on computer algorithms but those who have ventured into the world of online dating know how difficult it can be to make a real connection online. Sure, you have a lot of options in the digital world, but those options are worthless if none of them are looking for something serious. Frustrated with online dating and the lack of results, many senior singles in Long Beach are ditching online dating sites for something more traditional and personal.

The First Impression
It's been two years, three months and eighteen days. I have been so consumed in my work to allow myself to date, to feel vulnerable, to live. I haven't given it the slightest thought. My friends have been supportive. Trying to get me to go out for a drink here, a party there, to meet new people. I am a traditionalist. I like meeting people out in the world. I am one of those people who still admire someone dropping off a resume in person to create that first impression.

First Date
Mrs. Perino found herself the unexpected owner of a bottle of Merlot wine. Someone gave it to her husband who was a man who did not drink wine, but they gifted it to him because of the emblem on the bottle. It was her husband’s beloved San Francisco 49er football team. The bottle was engraved with gold and red letters of the SF logo and stamped three times were the roman numbers XVI. Near the bottom of the bottle was the teams’ statistics from their 1981 season. He never let her open it and drink it. What would he do with such a gift? Why did he save it? It sat on a shelf in their bar room.

You didn’t call me back
I wondered why you didn’t call me back. I pictured over and over where your raven hair would lay down on my pillow and where the imprint of your body would down lay on my sheets, and how your dainty, pretty face would lay down next to mine——but you didn’t call me back.

Liquid Courage
I swirled my glass of merlot. I could feel the weight of the bowl as it rested in my hands. I know you are supposed to hold it by the stem. Something about not wanting to change the temperature of the wine, but I prefer the stability. I watch as the diaphanous waves of red fall into themselves. It is as if I am looking through an oculus into some otherworldly sea.

The Glass Of Merlot Wine
So ,hey my name is Carrin. So I’m now 25 years old and I’m going on this date with this guy name Mike. So super nervous about it because we met online. And been talking for three months. Mike is very handsome about 6’3 tall and a dark skin guy with a fresh haircut and pretty brown eyes. His lips are so pretty so I can’t wait to meet him tonight. He invited me to this fancy restaurant called “Golden Flores”.

An Elevated Encounter
Sam had been looking forward to this date all week. He’d seen Tricia from afar at many business gatherings and social events. He just couldn’t seem to find the right moment or the right words to break the ice and seal the deal. Instead he’d spent a lot of time learning things about her. As he knew more, his confidence grew. And finally the opportunity presented and he’d asked her out. And she said yes. His heart was soaring from that moment. It was a week of planning the perfect date. He already knew her favorite band, her favorite flower, her preferred wine. He tried on every piece of clothing to select the perfect outfit that sent the right message. He wanted confident, successful, fun and easy going.

The Matchmaker
Ellie was never married and she never really dated much. She pretty much worked and went home and started all over again the next day. Yes, she had hobbies but they were probably boring to most people. She enjoyed reading, painting and gardening...not the most exciting hobbies and not really places you would meet people. She did enjoy her job at the local university but she worked in an office with only a few other people. They were nice but they were all women. Her co-workers went to lunch and out for drinks after work but not Ellie. She was a quiet woman in her late 50’s and she was shy, painfully shy. So, she worked during the week and spent the weekends at home. She lived in a small college town so there were lots of things to do but she didn’t go many places. Except every Saturday during the summer months she went to the farmers market. She loved it there!
