Stop Giving Away Your Happiness
Stop making your happiness someone else's.
“You are responsible for your happiness. In fact, you create it. You attract it. You manifest it. You are the architect of your reality. You choose your thoughts, your perceptions, and your reaction to external forces. You possess all the tools needed to expand your awareness, to orchestrate the evolution of your consciousness, to choose happiness, to choose love. You are that powerful. Create the life you deserve. Vibrate love.”
Tell me, why have you put your happiness in the hands of others?
You’ve become a product of your environment when you don’t need to be. When you shouldn’t be.
You’ve gotten so lost in the chaos of this world and in material things that you’ve forgotten that you are in control your happiness. At least you should be. You’ve gotten so used to allowing others to tell you how you feel that you just think that is how it’s supposed to be. But, that isn’t happiness. There’s so much more to life. You deserve more. You deserve happiness.
You don’t need anyone to give happiness to you. To make you feel that. You might think you do, but you don’t. You give that to yourself.
We forget that we are in charge of our happiness until we give that power away. Until we allow other people and other things to control that. Until we allow them to affect how we feel. To dictate our happiness. Instead of creating our own happiness, we allow others to create and destroy it. At the mention of our name, mouthing of a few words, and actions towards us. No one has any power over you or your feelings unless you give them that power. People only have the power that you give them. The power over your feelings and emotions, your happiness. We care way too much about what other people think, say, and do. We allow it to affect us too much because we are so worried about them when we should be worried about ourselves. We allow them to steal our happiness. We react and give them all the power. We allow them to affect us.
Your happiness has become at the mercy of others. You gave up the key when you were the key.
People never find true happiness because they don’t know how to be happy without someone else. Without something else. Their happiness has been based off of that for so long that they don’t know any other way to live. And because of that their happiness is a constant fluctuation of drastic mood changes. Sharp ups and sharp downs. All dependent on what is going on in their lives and with those that they look to for their happiness.
Your happiness shouldn’t be a reaction. It shouldn’t be a result. It should be a state of being. It should be your norm.
People who look to others and things to make them happy aren’t incapable of finding happiness. They will find it, but it will be temporary. It’ll be subject to change in seconds. They will find it only while being surrounded by like-minded people and that leaves when they are questioned or their views challenged. When their little world isn’t rainbows and butterflies and everything isn’t perfect. When the people around them are unhappy. When they don’t get the things they want. When everyone doesn’t agree with them. Their happiness will leave. Because it’s short-term happiness, not long term. Dependent on others instead of themselves. They don’t control it. They allow their environment to control it. And environments change all the time. Life changes in the blink of an eye. And when your happiness is just a reflection of what life currently is, well that’s rarely a pretty sight.
You’ve given up control to something that you can control. You’ve allowed your happiness to be a result of your environment, of others. And that’s no way to live.
Happiness can be a temporary thing or permanent thing. It all just depends on where it comes from. True happiness comes from within. It comes from finding peace within yourself. It comes from not allowing anything except yourself to dictate or affect how you feel. True happiness comes being able to control your own happiness. Nothing and no one else. The more you can do that the happier you will be because things won’t affect you the same. People won’t affect you the same. The things they say. The things they do.
When you find internally what you’ve been looking for externally, there’s nothing that can change that.
You’ll have more patience and not much will be able to upset you because you won’t let it. It won’t matter. You will be able to respect someone else’s opinion and views without getting upset. You won’t see the point in making big deals out of little things. You won’t see the point in getting mad or upset about things that don’t matter. Your perspective on life completely changes when you are at peace, truly happy. You’ll be able to have mature conversations about controversial topics because you won’t take things as personally. You won’t feel like you’re being attacked. Like you need to defend yourself or your views and opinions. You’ll be more accepting. You’ll understand that everyone’s different and that your ways aren’t always the best or right. You’ll have more respect for people and the things that make them who they are because those are the things that make them happy. You won’t feel the need to judge everyone and spread hate. You’ll be a much calmer version of yourself. You won’t care about the things that you let phase you now because as long as you are happy that’s all that matters. And you’ll realize that they aren’t really truly that important in the scheme of things. You’ll be able to see what’s really important and what isn’t. You won’t be living to please anyone or care about being accepted because you’ll know you’re good enough and accept yourself. You will love yourself enough not to put yourself through a rollercoaster of feelings and emotions caused by other people. You won’t need anyone else to validate who you are and how you feel about yourself. You’ll be confident in who you are. You’ll love yourself. You won’t need anyone else to make you happy. Your happiness should depend on YOU.
You’ve thought the key to happiness would be found in other people and other things and didn’t think to look within yourself.
You have to take back your power. You have to stop letting others steal your joy, your happiness. You’re giving them power that they shouldn’t have. You’ve looked to others when you should’ve looked to yourself. Your happiness is dependent on you. Whether you choose to give that to someone else or give it to yourself is up to you. But, you don’t need anyone or anything, you just need you. You are the only one that can complete yourself. You can’t look for what only you can give yourself in someone else. You’ll never find it. It’s not anyone else’s job to make you happy, that’s something you have to do for yourself. You’ll never be satisfied and fulfilled. Too many people give too much power to other people especially when it comes to their happiness. You have to take control of your happiness, take responsibility. The happiness that you are capable of giving yourself is greater than anything you could find in anyone or anything else. It’s better. It’s more than they could give. It’s wholesome.
You’ve looked for temporary solutions to satisfy a permanent need.
It’s an exhausting thing putting your happiness in the hands of others. Allowing them to determine it. Always being at their mercy. Allowing your happiness to be. Always being the effect when they’re the cause. It’s not selfish to decide to put yourself first. It’s not selfish to not want to have to need anyone else. You should never need anyone else. You should want people, but not ever need them. It’s not controlling to decide to control your own happiness. It’s necessary. It’s self-love. You can’t love yourself if you don’t put your happiness first. It’s how you find true happiness. It’s a personal choice. You have to do it, for you. This is your life. Don’t allow someone else to tell you how to live it, how to be happy. Your happiness should never lie in the hands of someone else. You’ll never find it. Why would you want someone to be able to take something so precious so easily away from you? Why would you give them that power?
Love yourself enough to not let your happiness be dependent on someone else.
Surface happiness is what most people experience. It’s reactive happiness. It’s dependent happiness. True happiness is what most people want, but don’t find. They don’t realize that only they can give it to themselves. They don’t know how to find it within themselves. Because it’s easier to just look externally instead of internally. Personally, I’d rather sail smoothly instead of riding a never-ending wave up highs and low. I’d rather take the time to find myself instead of stay lost my whole life. I’d rather not give someone the power to take away my happiness. I’d rather be able to give myself what I need and not dependent on someone else. I’d rather live than merely exist.
“Whatever makes you feel bad, drop it. whatever makes you smile, keep it. Simple as that."
Finding true happiness is finding true peace.
Happiness is something that affects all aspects of your life. The sooner you find happiness, the sooner you find peace. When you’re truly happy, you’ll feel one with yourself. You are at peace. When you’re happy with yourself and who you are, nothing else matters. Life is better, brighter. Life is more enjoyable. Life is less stressful. When you can learn to give that to yourself, you won’t ever let anyone take that ability away from you. You won’t want anyone else’s happiness because you’ll have your own. Because why would you want something from someone else that you can give to yourself. Everything changes when you’re genuinely happy and at peace. Everything that once affected and mattered to you won’t anymore in the best way possible. It allows more room for love and less room for hate. It puts you in a state of contentment and gratitude. It gives you a renewed sense of appreciation for everyone and everything in your life. A new way to live.
Happiness doesn’t come from getting everything you want. It comes from being grateful for what you do have.
Happiness isn’t the past and it isn’t the future. Happiness is found in the present. True happiness allows you to be fully present and live in the moment. Do what makes you happy. Don’t compare yourself to others. See positivity in everything. Find the silver lining. Practice gratitude. Happiness is dependent on the quality of your thoughts. Happiness is dependent on the perspective that you choose to have. Life is too short to not be happy. Choose happiness.
“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is a spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.”
Everything that you look for in others you can give to yourself. Don’t be dependent when you can be independent. Finding inner happiness is about finding the type of happiness that no one can take away from you. The kind that changes how you see everything. How you live. You don’t need anyone or anything to make or create your happiness. Everything you’ve ever needed is inside of you. You just have to take the time to find it. You have to learn how to make yourself happy again. You have to learn how to love yourself again without anyone or anything else. You have to make a conscious decision to no longer allow your happiness to be dependent on anyone or anything. No one can take that away from you unless you let them. Put yourself first. Put your happiness first. I’m done letting others dictate and control my happiness. Are you?
Find it within yourself and not within someone else.
