Long-distance relationships share their challenges, whether partners are separated by miles or by an ocean. But don't despair!

There are ways to keep your relationship spicy even when you're apart. Here are five of them:

1. Send each other love letters

Please write down your thoughts and feelings on paper, then mail them to your partner. It will remind your family members of happier times and let them know that they're still close to your heart, regardless of their physical distance.

2. Send each other little gifts

Gifts can serve as reminders of your affection for one another. Give something related to the thing you love most about your partner, like their favorite candy bar or the scent they wear. You'll make them smile and strengthen the bonds between you.

3. Try a couple's app

Couple's apps are what they sound like: applications that help keep couples close when they're not physically together. These apps can send a message to each other or even share a photo or video.

They may also have "spy" features, where you can see what your partner is doing at any given time in real-time.

If you and your partner use a couple's app like this one, it can help bring excitement back into your relationship. It knows that he's watching me play with myself before bedtime makes things much more exciting!

4. Try watching the same show and talking about it afterwards

The best time for this activity would be after work hours when both people have finished with their days' responsibilities and can relax with some light entertainment before heading off into dreamland!

5. Plan a surprise visit

The best way to surprise a partner in a long-distance relationship is by sneaking into their room while they're sleeping. Make sure you're up early and on the road before they wake up, so you're not seen driving off.

This can be especially exciting if you've been apart for an extended time, or even better if this is the first time being separated from each other!

6. Use social media to share daily updates.

There are lots of ways to use social media to keep up with each other's lives when you're apart:

  • Facebook status updates or photos of what you're doing (and who you're doing it with) will help your partner feel like they're part of your day-to-day life even when they're not around.
  • Send each other short video clips from Snapchat or Instagram stories showing what you're up to throughout the day — it will make them feel as if they were there with you!

7. Try out new things together when you get together

Trying out a new restaurant or going on a hike, or doing something artistic together (painting, drawing, etc.) will help bring back some of the sparks that might have faded since the last time.

8. Create new traditions for yourself

When reunited, both partners have something new to talk about and share. It could be anything from taking up a hobby or attending a concert or sporting event when not together

9. Take time off work to see each other

If possible, try making arrangements so that one of you can take time off work when the other comes back from vacation or travels for work. Maybe one of you could even travel back home at some point!

The point is that it's essential to find ways to spend time together in person as much as possible during long-distance relationships — not just being able to "see" each other through Skype (although this can be helpful too).

10. Have sexy Skype sessions

When things feel stagnant in your relationship, try having some sexy Skype sessions with your partner. Your Skype sessions will help remind each how much you love being together and how great it is when you're close.

If this seems weird or strange at first (it might), try it out for one night. Once you try it, you'll find it's a lot of fun.
