Romantic Relationship? – How Odunlade Adekola And His Alleged Lover, Eniola Ajao Met 14 Years Ago

Popular Nollywood actors, Odunlade Adekola and Eniola Ajao need no introduction in the Yoruba movie industry. They have both been making waves in the make-believe industry for years. The duo have been spotted together several times in movies and real life, but many fans don’t know how Eniola Ajao met Odunlade Adekola and the kind of relationship they share.The duo had once thrown surprise birthday parties for each other, which created mixed feelings in the industry, with many claiming that they are in a romantic relationship.

How Odunlade Adekola met Eniola Ajao?

Eniola Ajao is a junior colleague to Odunlade Adekola in the Yoruba movie industry. She met him in 2009 when she went to a film location with the late Moji Olaiya. As a big fan, she approached him and showed interest in joining his caucus.

Odunlade at the time said he had no caucus in Lagos but in Abeokuta and he agreed to have her join them at Odunlade Adekola’s film production academy, Abeokuta. That was how her relationship with Odunlade started. Eniola said she traveled to Abeokuta every week for movies rehearsal.She claimed she always made herself available for his movies because he would never call anyone in his production to come personally.

Eniola said she took it upon herself anytime she heard Odunlade Adekola is in a film location to pack her bag to meet him. Whether he invited her or not. The duo have repeatedly stated that their relationship is that of a boss and subordinate. In an interview not too long ago, when asked if she was dating Odunlade, the UNILAG graduate of Accounting said:

“Oh no! We are not dating o, I’m in his group, I’m subjected to him and he just has to make use of me."

“The relationship between my boss and I, Odunlade, is that of a boss and subordinate. I’ve known him for like over 10 years now. I’ve been in the industry for the past 16 years. I was somewhere before I went to school and came back to the industry.”

Romantic relationship scandal

It is no longer news that Odunlade Adekola is very instrumental in the acting career of Eniola Ajao, and their close friendship made people speculate that they are dating, but the duo had repeatedly denied it as stated above.

However the rumours grew in 2021, when Odunlade clocked 45 and was thrown a surprise soirée by Eniola Ajao and her mum, Aunty Mobo and while the soiree was going on, Eniola interrupted the dance session of Odunlade Adekola’s wife, Ruth.

While Odunlade Adekola’s mum was being sprayed money by the celebrant, his wife joined in and the singer began hailing her, reciting “You are not an unfaithful wife, you are a very good wife…” in the native Yoruba language.

While Ruth was being hailed as a good wife, Eniola Ajao stormed the dance session, began shaking her bum and attention shifted to her. The chanter began hailing her as well and she also took turns to dance with Odunlade’s mum.

As if that wasn’t enough, while giving his appreciation message, Odunlade Adekola publicly honored Eniola Ajao and her mum.

If there weren’t involved in a romantic relationship scandal prior the event, many would not have read any meaning to it. But after that happened, it only ignited the discussion further.

Fast forward to Odunlade’s 46th birthday, on December 31st, 2022 the duo did their best not to spark any unnecessary rumour. Odunlade Adekola had a very private birthday party in his house with only family members and friends present.

There wasn’t any unnecessary jamboree like the previous year and although Eniola wasn’t physically present at the lavish party — maybe to curb rumors, she sent representatives to honour her boss with gifts and a march past presentation.
