Missy stopped at a red light feeling Depressed and stressed. AS the light turned green she gave a little gas. She followed the car in front of her as she passed the Green light she couldn’t remember what happened next. Everything went black.

A few weeks ago Missy, her sister (Kate) and her mother (Sue) traveled together to visit her Boyfriend (Jared) and family. Missy was exhausted she had just got off work and now they were heading out to her boyfriends. Living a few hours apart this was a treat! She missed her boyfriend deeply and he worked night shifts so it was hard to spend time with him. They have been dating for about 2 years. She was so excited that she could barely contain herself. She started texting him.

Missy:“Hey”

Jared:“Hey”

Missy:“We are on our way! Can’t wait to see you!”

Jared:“Yeah, I’m going to be tired and I don’t want to be bothered when you get here. I need to get some sleep.”

Missy:“Oh, yeah, ok”

Jared:“I am going to put my dresser in front of the door so I won’t be bothered, I am exhausted.”

Missy understood the need for sleep but it seemed like he didn’t want anything to do with her. He seemed like he didn’t care she was about be there. Something seemed fishy. Her feelings were hurt, she felt like he was being distant. Missy felt like balling but she kept to herself and stared at the window till they got there.

Once they arrived they were greeted by Jared’s whole family but Jared. They talked and walked in the house. It was about supper time so Jared’s mother (Betsy) had dinner ready. Everyone gathered in the kitchen. Jared’s door was right by the kitchen so once missy saw it, she watched the door waiting for Jared to open it but it didn’t budge. She grabbed a plate and went to sit down in the living room to eat. After she finished she took her plate to the sink and again looked at Jared’s door hoping he would open up his door. She was disappointed and sat back down to listen to everyone’s conversation. After a while Missy was just tired and depressed and just wanted to be alone. Missy asked if she could go lay down in Jared’s sisters room (Elsie).

She had lain down and fell asleep right away! She was so depressed and sleepy when her mother came to wake her up to leave she couldn’t move! The fact that she didn’t get to spend time with Jared at all made her very depressed! Sue needed Missy to get up so she could help them get back out to the hotel. Missy’s mother also didn’t like the idea of her sleeping in the same house as her boyfriend. Missy woke up and tried her best to get up but she couldn’t move. Once her mother left the room she fell right back to sleep. Sue finally gave up and got directions from Jared’s parents.

Missy was out she didn’t even hear anyone go to bed. She woke up in the middle of the night with a dry throat. She walked to the kitchen and looked at Jared’s door. It still looked like it wasn’t budged. She didn’t hear a peep from him not even a text. Feeling even move depressed she got her drink and went back towards the bedroom. AS she walked she felt like she was going to pass out from exhaustion, still exhausted from the day and from the drive, plus the depression was overwhelming. She almost stepped into the bedroom door when someone wrapped their arms around her waist.

Missy jumped in fright and woke her up for a second. She turned and it was Jared. She was happy but yet the depression didn’t completely go away. He explained it was just a long day and he was so exhausted he needed the sleep. He drew her closer and kissed her on the neck, and then he took her by the hand and led her to the couch. Missy was happy to see him finally but she was so drained, and tired.

“I missed you,” he said. “I missed you too,” she said as he held her close. She let Jared talk a little and she laid her head on his shoulder almost falling asleep. “You’re tired honey, why don’t we go back to bed and we can spend the day together tomorrow.” So they did. Missy hobbled over to his sisters room while Jared watched her, then he went back to bed himself.

Missy woke up in the morning feeling refreshed. She fixed herself to look decent and went out to be greeted by Jared and Betsy. They were drinking a cup of coffee. Missy sat beside Jared and the day began.

Everything was going perfect nothing out of the ordinary. Jared made her happy and they both seemed to have a good time. They went on a small date, walked in the woods and had a wonderful time together. Jared had to work that night so he went to take a nap. Missy came into his room while he was sleeping to check on him. His phone went off so she went to check it hoping he didn’t have to go to work early. It was a message from a girl (summer) he worked with so she checked it. Again making sure he didn’t have to go to work early.

Summer: How’s it going with your girlfriend today?

Missy didn’t think much of it till she read a little more, and what she saw shocked her. She looked at a few of the last messages, and then went to the beginning of their conversation. He was texting her everyday with stuff she herself didn’t get from Jared for the past few months. She didn’t understand it at all. She thought he was acting his normal in-love with her today, but little did she know.

Jared: Hello beautiful, how are you doing?

Summer:”Good morning Handsome, I am doing well how are you?”

Jared:”I can’t wait to see you. Want to have lunch together?”

The conversation would go on and every time he woke up he told her she was beautiful. Missy looked at Jared as he slept peacefully… Her heart was breaking… He was telling someone else she was beautiful! And he said he couldn’t wait to see her! She looked at the dates, these messages were very recent. As if it couldn’t be any worse, she saw this.

Jared: If you break up with your boyfriend I will break up with my girlfriend.

Summer: I don’t know, I like you but I’m not sure yet.

Jared: Well let me know, because I will break up with my girlfriend. She is coming down for the weekend, I don’t know if I want to even be bothered with her right now. I think I’m just going to put a dresser up against my door so I wouldn’t be disturbed.

Missy’s eyes were filling with tears. She barely could read anymore. She put the phone down after she wiped everything away. She backed up into a corner of his room and cuddles herself with tears rolling off her face, waiting for him to wake up.

When missy is upset and crying it’s hard for her to speak so she didn’t say a word when he woke up. Jared notice right away that something was up. “What’s wrong?” He asked. No reply he got up and sat by Missy, he wrapped his arms around her but she pushed him away. “What is the matter?” He asked a little more worried. She grabbed his phone and opened the messages and threw it at him. She dried her tears and walked out the room and she walked out the house to the back patio swing.

Soon Jared joined her. He sat on the swing beside her. She had the notion to get up and leave. But he pulled her close and said, “I’m sorry, this distance relationship is hard. But once I saw you again I fell in love with you all over again. I love you, and I’m not going to break up with you. You’re much more beautiful than she is. I don’t know what overcame of me. Do you forgive me?”

Missy’s heart lightened up a bit. She loved him so much it’s too hard to be so upset with him, especially after what he just said. She shook her head and he hugged her so tight. “I am truly sorry.” Moments later Sue called for Missy. It was time to go. Missy didn’t want to leave after they had just made up. But she had to go. She hugged him real tight and went to the car. They waved their goodbyes and Missy left. Still sore from the heartache she just went through, she softly cried. She didn’t dare tell anyone what just happened.

Weeks pasted and Jared was getting distant again. She tried to not think of him talking to Summer again. So when her father asked if she’d watch the kids while he and her step mother go to Tennessee, she agreed. It would be something to keep her mind off things.

Then Jared messaged this:

Jared: “I think we need to take a break, I don’t know where I want to go from here. Long distance relationships are hard. I’m not sure if you are the one or if this will even work out.”

Missy: “Ok.”

The next day Jared text her again, “I just can’t stay away from you. I’m sorry, I still want you.”

Between work and depression and taking care of 4 kids Missy was beginning to get miserably tired. It was Saturday, even though she asked for it off because she was watching kids, Work scheduled her anyways. Trying to work it out for someone to watch the kids when she worked was beginning to be a pain. All she wanted was to take a nap and sleep in. She brought the kids to her mother’s house thinking it would be a little easier but it wasn’t. She laid down on her bed and closed her eyes. She woke up to everyone being loud and the youngest had pooped in his diaper… Missy got up in frustration; she forgot to grab diapers at her dad’s house so they had to go back to her dads. They all got in the car and headed over there.

Missy stopped at a red light. Feeling Depressed and stressed. She took out her phone and glanced at the recent breakup her and her boyfriend had, feeling like a hopeless relationship. Depression hit even worse now. She looked up as the light turned green she gave a little gas. She followed the car in front of her. As she passed the green light she couldn’t remember what happened next. Everything went black.

Next thing she knew, she woke up, but not from sleep. She hit a parked car on the side of the road. She smelt a burning smell and out of fear of the car blowing up she yelled at the kids to get out of the car. Trying not to scare them but they needed to get out. She stayed put till everyone in the back seat got out. Then she got out and watched the kids get to safety. She grabbed her purse and phone, and called her mother. Her phone was about dead but she called her boyfriend to let him know.

What Jared heard…

Missy: “I have been in a car wreck.”

Officer in the background: “Need to go to the hospital…”

Then her phone died…

His world turned upside down, He didn’t know what happened and if she was ok, nothing. He didn’t hear another word for the longest time. And in that time, his world stopped. He then knew he couldn’t live without his MISSY!
