I've been following Sadhguru for years, and his ever inspiring tales, advices, and the way he looks at life - is a tremendous force of positive energy to change yourself into a better human being. What is mindset? Mindset itself is how you perceive things, ideas, challenges, life, and everything in this universe in your own thoughts - with emotions attached to that thought process.

The best example for different of mindset - a glass of half filled water. Positive mindset looks at the glass as half full water, while negative mindset looks at the glass as half empty water. The difference is little, yet it is so substantial to look at one's mindset - whether they are looking at the brighter side or the worse side of life. What about you? Are you an optimistic (positive) person, or a pessimistic (negative) one?

I am a huge fans of optimism, however, there are times when the pessimstic side of me taken over, what's the problem with that? My friends, the biggest challenge of being pessimistic, is that you can't win challenges. How and why? This is from my own experience - I've turned to someone pessimistic without optimism during the pandemic period, and it really hits hard to where I feel like life is like a little candle, poof, and there it goes - especially with daily news of death case during the pandemic, life seems more fragile and frugal than ever. Nothing remains. Luckily, I've came across Sadhguru's advices and here I am, being positive and optimistic to challenge life as it comes.

Now, can you change? Yes, everyone can! Some may asked, what about depression? Is that state of mind? Yes it is, unfortunately, there's not much people can do nor help, it is all about you helping yourself to overcome it. Now, I'm not against depression or telling that it is not a serious illness, but again, I believe that depression is a state in which your mind is against you, and your mindset is heading towards very wrong direction - hence depression. Life itself, is a very challenging path to walk through, it will only throw "shits" (Apologies for the harsh word), but how you make yourself out of it, it's totally you. You can either become a pile of it, or bloom into a beautiful flower like lotus (It blooms prettier when there's more filth).

Do you notice - Poor people has specific issues to worry about - hunger, shelter, clothes, surviving but for the rich, there are thousand of issues to worry more. If you follow the news or depression statistics today, majority of the people going through it, is from first world country - rich, famous, fame; yet the poor ones, seldom walk suffer this as all they care is how to survive tomorrow. Why? Simple, when you have survivability out of the equations, your inner starts to act against you - worry of future or something that could or could not happen. We humans are being taught all the time to survive only - to work, find money, marry, have kids and retired till death door calls us in. We weren't taught to understand our inner self at all - being appreciative of little things that happened, because it just happened easily.

So here, I'd like to share a few methods that I've used to change my own mindset and hope it will helps you glide through your journey to be a more positive human:

1. Every night, jot down your day as a journal. Then, every morning, look back what's the best thing that happened yesterday. It need not to be a very big event, just a tiny little things which happened, like dinner with your family, and every member of your family are there sitting at the same table - it makes you appreciate life as it is.

2. Take a 15 minutes time everyday - just sit in meditative pose, and think nothing but listen to your own breathe - appreciate that each breathe you take, you still have life inside of you fighting for another second.

3. What's outside of you, it's something beyond your control - but your joy, your anger, your compassion, your love, your emotions are 100% controlled by you. As buddha's teaching goes, if you do not accept the gift from others, then there's no gift - similarly, if you do not accept any words given by others, then there's nothing to feel for.

4. Give more - be it in monetary value (may be skipped if you aren't able to), time, or strength to help - you'll be surprised that you will receive more than what you give - especially joy.

5. Turn away from social media - go out to have a real conversation with people, strangers, anyone - you'd surprise of how much you can gain from just talking to them. Social media is a very destructive way to lower your self-esteem and worth - it creates a very envious, jealousy and comparison of yourself with the others, and most of the time, those are fake mask to mask their real life.

6. Exercise! No matter what type of exercise it is, it release your body into a relax state afterwards, and it makes you feel good about yourself.

Here, I hope that sharing my life experience, will helps you to regain your life back on its track. Remember, the only person that can achieve happiness is yourself. Family, spouse and friends, are just a supporting pillar. There's a limit on how much happiness you can grab from them. The only way to make changes, are from within you. We are human being, and without the being, we are just another animal roams on earth.
