On Wedensday May 6th I completed a challenge. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Human Services. I graduted with over a 3.0 GPA I did what someone told me I could not do years ago. I did what I thought i could not do years ago. I rewrote the story that I thought was etched in stone. I changed the script. I did it all on my own. I'm so proud of myself.

This is reminding me of a trend I saw a few times over social media called I met my younger self for coffee. I wondered what I would say if i did meet my younger self for coffee. After months of thought I finally decided what i would say. So i would like to share that here.

I met my younger self for coffee. We were both chronically early, we both ordered herbal tea because we're allergic to caffeine. I asked her what she was doing these days, she looked at me and she said she was getting ready to move to South Carolina. She asked me if it was the right choice. I smiled and said absolutley! She said how do you know? I said here's what's going to happen. You're going to move, lose an abusive relationship, spend years in therapy at first and heal from that shit. AND THEN in church one night you're going to have a thought to go back to school. You're going to apply and get in. Would you like me to keep going i asked her? Yes, she said. I told her she was going to graduate with her associates almost top of her class with honors and finish her bachelors in one year. I told her it was going to be hard work but it would be worth it. She would also apply to get her masters and that was in progress.

I told her she would be okay, she would have to work really hard and cry a alot. I also told her she would write 9 books on amazon and start a podcast to share her story. I told her she would end up exactly where she should be. I told her she could use her story to help a lot of people. I told her she would also learn what she didn't deserve in a relationship and fight for that. She would be single for a long time and hopefully she'll find someone.

She smiled at me and said thank you. I said you're welcome. I said you'll also have a plethora of academic support behind you and you'll have amazing teachers and you'll cry when you get your associates. But it will teach you so many lessons. You'll learn so much about yourself. You'll get your bearings again.

I also told her she'd buy a car for herself and get her drivers liscense and have fun with that. I also told her she'd find herself over the next few years and lose who she wasn't meant to be. I told her she'd fight so hard to get where she is and she'd have to heal a lot of trauma. But once what was over she'd be happy and clear headed.

I hope we meet for coffee again and I can tell her how much farther we have come and how much more we have accomplished. I hope she realizes i'm always watching out for her and praying she'll find her voice. And boy I'm so glad she did! I'm so glad God answered my prayers. I hope we meet for cofee again soon.
