What motivates you? How influenced are you by your thoughts, words, emotions, core values, and beliefs? The relationship between diet, exercise, and weight loss and the increasing rates of body dissatisfaction and overall dissatisfaction in society is complex. Self-love can significantly impact your life positively. Cultivating self-love is essential for meeting our fundamental need for connection and love. Developing a deep sense of worth and self-love can help us move away from seeking external validation and comparison with others. Embracing true beauty, love, and kindness towards ourselves can lead to a more fulfilling life. Instead of focusing on diets, prioritizing love is more effective. Positive emotions can bring our nervous system into alignment, leading to better decision-making and overall health. Our thoughts greatly influence our feelings, with a high percentage being negative. Experiencing and expressing love and gratitude can have a profound impact on our well-being and strengthen our emotional and physical health. Gratitude, in particular, plays a vital role in enhancing our lives and relationships.

These were two significant lessons in my life. It was only when the most significant life lesson of pregnancy and postpartum arrived that I truly grasped the depth of self-love. Every day, numerous babies are born, and mothers feel the pressure to conform to certain standards. Despite societal expectations, what mothers truly desire during this time is to focus on love, connection, and bonding with their babies. Unfortunately, I also succumbed to our weight-focused culture and became concerned about my appearance after gaining over 50 pounds during pregnancy. These worries led me to injury, landing me in the hospital twice in a single week due to a severe back injury. At the time, my children were just one and three years old, and I was unable to lift or care for them as I had hoped. I experienced more than I anticipated. I often justified eating unhealthy foods by planning to work out later to burn off the calories. I had subconscious beliefs and thoughts that affected me. Not being able to exercise made me realize the importance of inner work. Rehabilitating from childbirth required focusing on inner strength. I gained knowledge about core health and pelvic health after injuring myself. I learned the importance of proper breathing techniques. Teaching mom-and-baby bootcamps made me realize the risks I unknowingly exposed myself and others to. This led me to write "The Love FitMama Way." Being a fit mama starts with self-love and inner peace. Trusting your instincts is vital. We need to shift focus from weight loss to releasing judgment and feelings of unworthiness. Embracing self-worth is crucial. We can change our ingrained negative thought patterns and create new pathways filled with self-love.

Chocolate cake, once a symbol of joyous celebrations, has now become associated with negative feelings such as guilt, shame, and regret. A study was conducted to explore the impact of mindset on individuals consuming chocolate cake. Participants were divided into two groups: one feeling guilty about indulging and the other embracing the experience as a moment of happiness. The guilty group exhibited higher levels of the stress hormone cortisol, leading to increased stress and difficulty in weight management in the long term. The study highlighted the detrimental effects of guilt on overall well-being. It is essential to make conscious food choices without attaching negative emotions or restrictions. Instead of overthinking dietary decisions, focus on positive emotions and heartfelt connections. Cultivating self-love and choosing gratitude over self-criticism can significantly improve mental and physical health. Embrace positive self-talk, discard repetitive negative thoughts, and prioritize daily moments of gratitude and deep breathing to nurture a strong and loving heart. By fostering positivity and self-acceptance, one can achieve a healthier and more fulfilling life.
