According to FEMA https://www.usfa.fema.gov/data/statistics, there were over 1.3 million house fires in the United States back in 2018. Those fires claimed nearly 4,000 lives. It is bad enough when a fire claims a home and belongings. When it claims lives, things are far worse. This year has brought a lot of heartache to many. I do my best to help and bring attention to allow others to help those in need. The mother of a very dear friend of mine lost her home to a fire. The house was not insured, and everything was lost!

Since the fire, people have already stepped up to provide temporary shelter; start fundraisers; and donate clothing and other items necessary to make a new start. Sandy is a disabled woman who was living with one of her daughters and her family when the fire struck. Another daughter, my dear friend Manda made me and the rest of the public aware of the situation. Manda asked that I write this article in hopes to bring more awareness to the crowdfunding.

A GoFundMe has been setup to help cover costs of bills and other things. See the following: (https://www.gofundme.com/f/cxtn9z-family-lost-everything-in-house-fire?utm_source=facebook&fbclid=IwAR075t8c_ajZbG6nEUu3UEnHCgmprgFtJu3oLiXLW-o_kbO42hGjSDVlXlI). Manda is a positive person that posts helpful insights, humorous jokes, fishing videos and more, (https://www.tiktok.com/@country_girl1986?lang=en). As an individual who aids others and provides entertainment and positive support to thousands, I felt it was only fair that others should reciprocate.

Any help you can provide is appreciated. Donations do not necessarily have to be money. Sharing this article to bring more awareness; donating old clothes for her mother who lost everything; or anything you can, helps. It is the goal of the family to reach provide a new home for Sandy. While this goal seems steep, a home can be purchased for as little as $20,000. This family is not looking to purchase a fancy home. They are merely looking to replace what was lost with something livable. If you can donate, got to: (https://www.facebook.com/donate/428964991839119/1268903633475187/).

We are Americans. Americans are known for uniting and doing something amazing! I hope that this goal can be met. It is a realistic goal and could be reached in a matter of days with the support of from the right people. Homelessness is on the rise for reasons like this one. It is a blessing that Manda recently put herself in a scenario where she can help her mother.

As a friend of hers, I know how much this weighs on her. I love that the fundraisers are set with low an achievable goal because this is not a greedy family looking for handouts. They are looking for help: Help from the men and women of their country who are known for doing great things. Making America great is not about who you vote for but what you as the people of this nation do for one another. Do something great this year. Give 2020 something to think about rather than the other way around.

Sandy is an independent author. She was writing her fifth book when the fire struck. It is not known if she can recover this work. She hopes it was saved on a cloud drive somewhere and is currently searching for it. Why do I share this? Because as a writer myself, I know how much effort goes into writing a project, especially one as involved as a novel. Do what you can to help. Share this article with others. Reach out to Manda and Sandy on Facebook to see what they need that you might have laying around your homes. Anything helps! The family is grateful for anything.
